  • 2009 Ford Taurus

    2009 Ford Taurus, a little over 21k.

It was given a basic detail, it sure needed something.

I washed the wheels, tires, and wells with Deep Crystal Car Wash, Super Degreaser, and Wheel Brightener along with various brushes.

Trim piece cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner and a toilet brush.

The car was washed with Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner and Body Solvent where needed.

After drying the car, I popped open the trunk and vacummed it and wiped the jambs out with All Purpose Cleaner and a terry cloth.

I then removed all of the dirt and mud out of the doorjambs with All Purpose Cleaner, a toilet brush, followed by a soapy water agitation. They were then rinsed with water, dried, then sealed with my 70/30 mix of #135 - Synthetic Spray Detailer and Ultimate Quik Wax.

I then made my way into the interior. I vacummed, dry brushed, then vacummed the carpet again. Some areas were spot cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner.

The leather and all other interior surfaces were cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner, then dressed with Quik Interior Detailer.

Glass was cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate at 10:1.

I lightly clayed the paint, then worked in an application of #20 - Polymer Sealant with my PC at speed 4, I used several W8207 pads. I topped the #20 with my 70/30 mix of #135 - Synthetic Spray Detailer and Ultimate Quik Wax.

Tires and wells were dressed with All Season Dressing, the chrome wheels were polished with Hot Rims Chrome Polish then sealed with #20 - Polymer Sealant.

      Looks nice!
When you dry brush the interior, what exactly does that mean and why do you do that? What type of brush.
      Thanks

Isn't a toilet brush a bit harsh for some of those areas??

Was that another one from the Doctor's office project? Tires looked nice: Pirelli P6 stood out, looked clean. The shiny look would have been out of place on the finished product, good eye.

So what do you think about summer suddenly appearing? Sunday night I gave my car a quick ONR wash in the garage, maybe twenty minutes, but I swear I sweated off at least 5 pounds!

I love your details the most. Your details are more wash and wax, which is what more people order, than paint corrections. Simple details, with daily drivers. Maybe I'm weird, but I like seeing ones like these more than the ones of GT3's and GT-R's...

                          Thank you.

I just use a stiff carpet brush, its to loosen the debris deep into the carpet so it can be vacummed.

Nope. I only used it on the plastic trim to remove the dirt and mud.

Yes, another detail from the office. I think the ASD worked great on the tires.

It has been pretty hot the last few days, its impossible to wash a car in direct sunlight after noon.

Been trying to drink plenty of water and Gatorade though, and going out for ice cream after a detail.

I do some correction every now and then and do get to work on some interesting stuff from time to time.
