That's awesome. What's going on with the color? Is it dark gray with blue pearl? I've never seen anything like it.

1986 Chevy Blazer (drag truck)
Hey all,
Now that I got the '51 Mercury where I want it, I decided it was time to start on the '86 Blazer. The Blazer is all custom, and I race it at our local drag strip. After working on the very, very soft paint of the Mercury and having the micro marring troubles, I was a little hesitant, but I figured I'd try my luck on the Blazer.
Basically, all I was dealing with was some pretty good swirling and some marring from some kind of rubbing compound (rocks in a bottle..) put on previously. Not too sure how good you're going to be able to see it because the paint is so light, but here goes:
Swirl City:
I did my test spot with Swirl X and a 2.0 Polishing pad and I couldn't see a difference. I decided to step it up to the Ultimate Compound/Polishing pad and there was quite a difference, but I had to apply UC three times to get the results I wanted.
So, back to the M105 and let me tell you, this paint LOVED M105! I had read previously on MOL that some cars take well to M105 and you don't need to follow up with M205. Heh...I needed to see it to believe it, but I believe it now! I did my test spot with the M105 - one pass and the finish came out beautiful!!
Test spot with the M105 (nothing on the top section, M105 on the bottom)
Finished up the whole truck with M105 & the polishing pad and topped with NXT 2.0 by hand. No M205 needed! Rims cleaned with Hot Rims and tires dressed with Insane Shine.
Thanks for looking!Tags: None
