Last Saturday and Sunday my daily driver (2009 Pontiac G8 GT) received it's spring detail. I really started the Saturday before when I did the interior and under the hood due to the weather being too cold for polishing in my unheated garage. The interior only needed a wipe down with Quik Interior Detailer and a light vacuuming since I try to keep the interior spotless at all times. Under the hood I wiped down any visibly dirty spots with APC on an old MF, then "rinsed" with a damp MF. I followed this up with some Adam's VRT. I traded a friend a half bottle of Hyper Dressing (when it comes from ADS tomorrow (hopefully)) for a half bottle of VRT. This way we can both sample other companies wares on the cheap.

^ As you can see I have poor camera aiming skills. ^
So anyway, this past Saturday after I got the twins down for their afternoon nap the exterior was washed with ONR using one bucket w/ Grit Gard since I planned a minor paint correction on the hood and trunk.( A well meaning person brushed snow off my car this winter and left some long faint scratches for me to remove this spring.)
Wheels were cleaned with Meguiar's Wheel Brightener and treated with DP Wheel Glaze. Tires were cleaned w/APC and an old brush. Tires then got Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire spray applied on a foam applicator.
I clay barred using clay from Meguiar's Smooth Surface Kit and ONR diluted to old detail spray dilution (6 oz per gallon). Since I keep my baby clean the clay bar didn't have a lot to remove.
I went to work on those snow brush scratches and a few RIDS with my Griot's Garage DA polisher with M105 on a CCS 6.5" orange pad. I first attacked the trunk, then the hood. The trunk needed two passes, the hood only one. The entire car was then treated to M205 on a CCS 6.5" white pad.
I called it a day and reacqauinted myself with my family.
Sunday morning I rinsed the car off to get rid of all that M105 dust, dried it and got out the M07 Show Car Glaze and a 6.5" gray CCS finishing pad and went to town. I finished up with two coats of NXT 2.0 on a 6.5" red ultrasoft wax pad. Door shuts and trunk margins had already been cleaned w/ APC so they got UQW X2 on a MF applicator. Finally, glass got Rain-X on the outside and just plain cleaned on the inside.
Sorry, no "before" pics. Pics were taken on Tuesday after I dusted the car with my California Duster. The pollen this year is ridiculous.

^ As you can see M105/M205 is a deadly combination on swirls and scratches. ^

The black strip got some M40 last night after I viewed this pic...

The dandelions also got their comeuppance last night!
