Range rover sport enhancement

    Range rover sport enhancement

    The past couple of days has seen me battling against the odds and doing enhancement details on big, black range rovers.
    To say the paint wants to play ball would be an outright lie.
    I haven’t got pics of the vogue I did on Friday but this one I had time for a few quick snap shots.

    Typical process for washing including:
    Meguiars apc
    Valetpro pH neutral snowfoam
    Craftchem wheel cleaner
    Dodo juice born to be mild
    Dodo juice wash n rinse buckets
    EZ detail brush
    Beau technique brush
    Cobra xl miracle dryer towel
    Autosmart tango
    Clayed using yellow poly clay and home brew lube.
    Polishing process after 2 hours of pad and polish combos
    Settled at lambswool and menzerna power finish followed up by dodo juice lime prime on a 3M polishing pad.

    In she went and here we go ( only a couple of panel shots due to time )

    And the finished look




    Slight scratchy bit immenant still but quite reasonable flake.



    All trim was done with poorboys world trim restorer, tyres/arches with craftchem rubber and vynil dressing.
    Glass cleaned with valetex glass polish.
    Wheels sealed with poorboys world wheel sealant.
    LSP collinite 476s.
    Obviously the finish isnt perfect but for an enhancement I feel it is quite way sufficent.

    I love Range Rovers, specially Black ones. :P

    you should have tryed the 105/205 combination to see how it works in that paint

      I keep seeing and hearing so much about 105 and 205 but I can only get larger sizes over here and its quite the expensive product.
      Ive seen meguiars are doing 8oz bottles in the states but were so far behind in the uk.
      It was an enjoyable couple of days but finding what pad/polish combo was right really was a nightmare, the paint is quite tough and in some cases sticky.

            I own a detail center here in DR, a lot of Range Rovers ( BLACK btw) come to my bussines because they like the way their friends range rover came out after Polish. I know the range rover has a extremely hard paint but a good combo ive used ( just for future reference ) is:

            Meg's #85 on Meg's red Cutting pad
            then
            Meg's #82 on Meg's yellow polishing pad
            to remove the last bit of swirls left by #85.

            To protect the paint on this kind of vehicles i use the Meg's M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 wich also helps a little bit on hidding the hairline thick swirls that were'nt removed.

            Thats just the way i do it, and the paint becomes easy some how... i dont know
