2000 Corvette

Here is a 2000 Vette that i just finished up today. I really enjoyed working on it and the owner was thrilled with the outcome. He belongs to one of the local Corvette clubs so hopefully he spreads my name a little. LOL I went a little overboard with pictures.

Interior process:

Cleaned with APC and treated with Natural shine. Treated seats with Gold Class Leather. Steamed the carpets. Final inspect was used on the door jambs.

I apologize but my photo taking abilities are horrible.

Engine:

Soaked everything down with APC than agitated with various brushes than dressed with HD 2:1

Exterior:

Washed with Gold class. Rims were washed with Hot Rims and tires with Westley's. Clayed with Mild clay with Final inspect cut 1:1 as lube.
Paint was corrected with 151 and topped with M21. Tires were dressed with ASD and plastic and wheel wells were treated with HD. Exhaust was cleaned with Megs Mag and Wheel polish and steel wool.

Good job man! How much time did you have vested in it? You use a PC or by hand?

I had about 8 hours in it and used my rotary with a green LC pad. Thank you for the nice comment.

People who don't understand what it takes to do what we do usually will grumble. Doesn't take much to educate them that the equipment and supplies aren't that cheap, and the experience it takes to use them effectively doesn't come easy either.

Not to mention it's just plain hard work!

I hear ya. I went through my entire process, showed him the defects before and showed them they were gone after and it seemed to go right over his head. Oh, well.

Great work on the vette, Tracy. Everything looks great. Sorry to hear that he grumbled a bit about the price. He will come around and realize it was worth. Great work, way to go.

Unfortunately, your dealing with un-educated people. Now I am not a person to skip steps in my own stuff, but if he wants to come back but beat you up on the price, do not give him as much. The average person most times does not know the difference, sad to say.

Also his car looks to be Light Pewter Metallic so most imprefections would never show up a'la Black, or Navy Blue Metallic.

Good work.

Did you agree on a price before starting the work? If the customer agreed on a price before you started, there is no reason for them to complain about it.
