  • 2009 Chevy Equinox

2009 Chevy Equinox, less than a year old and has a little over 10,000 miles. The owner just wanted everything cleaned and protected. I also removed the light toweling marks the paint had, gave the interior a deep cleaning as well.

Vehicle was dropped off last night around 8pm, I started on it then. I did not take before pictures of the exterior since it was not that dirty, just looked street driven.

Washed the wheels, tires, and wheelwells with All Purpose Cleaner and various brushes:

    rinsed.....

Washed the SUV with Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner and a Meguiars wash mitt.

Every surface of the exterior has been washed and dried, I was going to try and get it clayed by 11:00pm, but it was already 10:30 by the time I got done with the wash.

I ended up just going out for a cheeseburger and came home and went to bed.

    Day 2:

I got started again around 5am and decided to make my way into the interior:

I cleaned the doorjambs with #34 - Final Inspection and a damp microfiber, I then vacummed every inch of the interior and brushed out the vents and crevices with various brushes.

Carpet and seats were cleaned with APC+, a toilet brush, warm water, and extracted with a shop vac. Floormats were cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner and a toilet brush, then extracted with shop vac and dry terry cloths.

All vinyl, plastic, and rubber was cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner and then dressed with Quik Interior Detailer.

All clear plastic was cleaned with Quik Interior Detailer and a microfiber.

Glass was cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate.

The exterior was lightly clayed, then was waxed with #20 - Polymer Sealant via G110 and several W9207 pads on speed 3. Tires were dressed with Gold Class Endurance High Gloss and the trim was dressed with Quik Interior Detailer. The wheels were waxed with #20 - Polymer Sealant as well.

Great work, Nick. Very smart move. Washing it the night before. Helps out a lot the next morning. Equinox looks as good as new. Way to go.

That thing looks like it just rolled out off the showroom floor, well probably better than the showroom...

Nice, looks like it could be sitting in the showroom! I do have a question though. Why do you clean interior surfaces with APC, then QID?
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Looks great! Looking at the before interior shots, I was cringing. Sure, I let my truck interior go sometimes. But I can't believe some people let it get to that. Was that Pops cereal on the floor?

I'll second the question about why you used APC followed by QID. Was it because so much stuff was caked on?

Thank you. One of the very few cars I have seen escape the dealer without the DISO.

Thank you sir. I appreciate the kind words.

I do not use Quik Interior Detailer as a cleaner but more as a dressing. Quik Interior Detailer has some UV protection and leaves a matte finish that looks like new. I could notice a difference after I applied the QID

That was actually rocks, dirt and debris on the floor.

As for the Quik Interior Detailer, please look above in my response to forum member kimchiyuk.

Nick, I am not a huge fan of the Ewuinox but I must say you made that one look amazing. I love your attention to detail. The paint has amazing depth and clarity. Way to go.

Outstanding! I'm also not a huge Equinox fan, but that doesn't matter - the car looks great!
I like that red, too. Keep it up!
