  • Trophy Winning 1964 Buick Skylark!!

I got a call from my friend Frank a week ago alerting me to a car show at Belmont Raceway in Long Island, New York. We're both friends from our local car show and I had detailed his 1971 Buick Skylark in the past (I made a thread about it, its also on my webpage). He said all our friends are going and asked me if I would detail his new 1964 Buick Skylark for the show. I told him I would be happy to and got to work a few days later. Two days of washing, polishing, cleaning and waxing certainly paid off as the car looked amazing (the judges thought so too) and we took home 3rd place in his class.

    Wash: Gold Class
Polish: M105/205 on 7" 2.0 pads on my rotary and G110
Interior: QID, APC, UP and Odor Elminator.
    Tires, wheelwells and engine: Hyperdressing
Wax: Gold Class+ via G110 on 4" finishing pad the day before and a final coat of Pinnacle Souveran by hand that morning.
    QD: Last Touch 1:1
Windows: Stoner's glass cleaner and UQW
    Metal: Nevr Dull

    Without further ado:

Thank you very much Mr. Stoops. I guess it does. I hope to have a lot more show cars to detail this summer, I gave out about 150 cards at the show and had some very interested potential customers. A 2009 Challenger SRT and 1970 Camaro SS look very likely.

Congratulations, James. The Skylark looks great. Hope you get a lot of business from this.

Thank you. If nothing else I can expect a lot more business from Frank. He has a 1977 AMC Pacer, 1971 Buick Skylark, 1967 Plymouth Fury III and a 1976 Chrysler Cordoba and he says he wants me to work on each one before he enters them in a show. I've only gotten to work on the Skylarks so far though (got to drive the '71 and the Pacer too).

If they all are in the condition of the Skylark. That is a pretty cool collection he has. Good luck with them.

Well, unlike this Sklyark the others are all original with original paint and interiors. They have normal wear and tear of 30-40 year old cars, but they are in amazing shape (with low miles to-boot).

                  Here's the 1971 Skylark:

Thanks for the kind words Joe. I was kinding of hoping that you would be at the show, I really should've called you. There was a ton of Mustangs new and old, but none with the flare of yours. Is it out of storage yet?
