  • 2003 blue wrx .... updated pics 4months later

I'm far from the consumate professional, but i believe im getting a real feel for this car stuff. Someone once said to me "when its hard ... do it hard BUT when its easy .... do it easy". Well today was the day for easy. I believe this is my best work sofar & all it took was a wash a thorough chammois dry & some gold class polish. I also did the interior with the vac and a dust cloth. Thankfully this person is very clean and keeps his car in good condition, however not so long ago it had to get some repairs to the body after a truck made some minor damage to the rear pillar. As part of the repair the rest of the car was polished but not terribly well. There was a lot "chalk" left over in hard to get places such as rubbers etc ... i believe the chalk was a result of poor masking which made it slightly difficult to remove. The beauty of using gold class is that it has no abraisives and doesnt leave behind a residue. I applied it all by hand and removed with a single microfibre towel. My only let down is that i havent really figured out what to use on the tyre wells as they look gray and messy in comparison. Look at the results.... (if the pics are too big please PM me i can re edit them to a smaller size)

Very nice results! Good pictures too!

As for fender wells, some people like using either of these products,

    Hyper-Dressing
    Accent Dressing

Very nice job, and a very tidy car... Luv the wrx's.

As for wheel wells what Mike suggested is the best..... Only problem is in Australia that stuff, well at least in melbourne, is impossible to find....

I ended up finding the Hyper dressing from a local detailer supplier and know they dont stock anymore..... And im running out fast....

I have been using the accent dressing with great results. I like it because it is quick, easy, and lasts a long time. Not to mention it is great when you are dealing with big fender wells.

thx mike - im glad to have gotten my hands on a good camera finally. It truly makes a lot of difference. I've not seen the hyper dressing in this part of town but .... i have spoken to the state rep and he was seriously one of the nicest people to talk to. He said if i had any trouble getting product to give him a ring and he'd sort it out. Great bunch of ppl these meguiars guys

street stylin perhaps i can ask if he can help u also.
I'm curious does this stuff get painted on once you have diluted it or do u put it in a spray bottle? whats the best application?

            Hey,

What I like to do is cover the rotors with a towel, and then spray the Hyper Dressing on to the wheel well plastic. Then I take a foam paint brush and spread the product around. Leave it sit for a few minutes and come back and wipe down with a towel. This will leave a beautiful satin finish!!

I like to use meguiars #40 cut 50/50 with water in the wheel wells. That maybe easier for you to find.

Well its 4 months down the track and i thought i'd post some updated pics. I visit this car weekly for what i call a Mini Detail.
It basically consists of the following....

                      NXT Wash & Dry
                      Endurance High Gloss Tyres
                      Vacuum, Dust inside & Windows

This for me is about $50-00 and around 90 mins work.
What ive successfully been doing for a few months now is adding value to my services. For example ... every 2nd Mini Detail i give a FREE application of NXT liquid polish, usually applied by hand and removed by PC with microfibre. The wrx is one such car that has this treatment.

heres the results as of today ...

Its a little extra work for the NXT - but i just absolutely love applying wax/polish to cars. I simply love the way they look after. The results have been amazing ... i have more work than i can poke a stick at, and i get to leave the client with great looking car.

Now typically most cars that first come to me have the full treat ment on their paint to remove most of the defects etc. This in turn combined with the regular top ups of NXT makes my job alot easier and alot more satisfying when it comes to wash time.

Most days i get about 3 cars done which equates to pretty good bank for me over a 5 - 6 day period.

                      I LOVE MY JOB!!

For those Aussies that dont know yet ... the detailer line and other new goodies are available very very soon in Australia.
could it be that Australia is coming out of the stoneage??

I'm off to place my order now
