  • Early Spring REVIVAL! Pt. II - 2007 Dodge Nitro SLT

Ok guys, i got my moms car, well, SUV cleaned up today as well, It has been through the touchless wash a few times this winter, but nothing to actually CLEAN the surface like a quality hand wash. Anyway, this wash took right about an hour start to stop and again, process/products and pics will be listed below.

    Process:

Whole vehicle pre rinsed with pressure washer rinsed with open hose end and wheels/tires/wells were pressure rinsed pre and post wash.
    • Wash - Ult. Wash & Wax, 2 bucket method w/ grit guards. Rinsed with open hose end to preserve wax on surface
    • Wheels - Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner, agitated and rinsed
    • Tires- Westleys Bleche-Wite, agitated and rinsed, dressed with NXT insane shine aresol spray
    • Fender Wells - cleaned with UW&W, agitated with brush and rinsed

    Before:

New Ultimate Wash & Wax: added approx 3 oz of wash to approx 3 gal of water

    Afters:

As far as the UW&W goes, i didn't really see much diff. in the paint, nor did i notice any diff in beading when i had rinsed it. Maybe the car was too dirty to really notice the wax in it? I had let the soap sit on the paint the whole time i had washed it, which ended up being a bad idea as pass side dried by the time i finished drivers side, so i will need to adjust when i use this according to sunlight etc., or just wash half the vehicle at a time. Overall, im not sure if im impressed with UW&W or not. It didn't do much for me this first time.

Thats about it for this one guys, if i would have had more time, i would have cleaned all the ext. plastics with Ultimate Protectant but the time wasnt there. It also could have used a bit more washing in door jambs etc.

If I had not read this line and just went by the pics posted I'd have thought you thought differently. Your Mom's ride looks sweet. Great job!

thanks man, i just didnt visually see a diff with water beading/sheeting, no diff in the way the surface felt, but maybe its just me?

Given the fact that this vehicle is just coming out of an Iowa winter that included a few passes through a touchless car wash, it's doubtful there was any wax on the surface to begin with. UWW is not going to give you a hugely dramatic improvement on a surface like that as it won't add enough wax to to take a finish from "naked" to "protected". As a routine wash on a well prepped surface, however, it does do a fantastic job of boosting the shine and slickness and, when rinsed lightly (never a heavy blast from the hose) should make drying easier too.

It sounds as though all you did was wash the Nitro though, no paint correction or waxing, right? If so, it looks fantastic for having done very little done to it!

yeah, i was thinking that last night, i think my expectations were far too high for just using a wash n wax product, surely i shouldnt have expected a dramatic diff, so im sure it did its job as it was supposed to.

              Looks great Zach.

The new Ultimate Wash and Wax is definitly a winner.
