  • 2005 Honda CRV - My first thread here

Hi guys. Here's my first thread in this forum.

I call this "Weekend Warrior meets Friend's vehicle". I don't detail for dollars yet, just do some stuff for friends. Here's what we've got. (Sorry my poor photography job, I'm still working on it)

He had a black Honda CRV. And yes, I say had here for a reason... You'll see!

    Some bad scratches

    Here's a big one

    Spider webs!

The class had some water spots that I don't know what to use to remove them

Hard to tell here but he had really bad holograms on his hood

Another shot of the quarter panel

Bringing it in the garage, sun is gone. I had to buy some work lamps. BEST investment ever! $45 and I don't need to use a hand held spotlight!!

    Lots of swirls

    Hood again, with lamps

He said the previous owner had a dog.

And now I started some work.

I wanted to see what my finest polish would do, because the owner said he believed his paint was really soft. He thought he was making some scratches with his drying cloth when he hand dried it.

    Here's M205 on a yellow meduiar's pad with a G110:

    50/50

He was right! This paint was SO SOFT. I wish my car was this soft. Took my two passes with M105 just to get a small bit of scratches out of my car...

Here's more M205. I had to use SwirlX in some places. I only went with a 80% correction because the owner was worried about time and thought what he was seeing was good enough.

Look! His car was really NOT black!

It's actually dark blue!!! We were all shocked, it was funny.

I finished the rest of the car. I didn't go as good of a job as I wanted but the owner was happy and didn't want to wait anymore. This took roughly 6 hours, I didn't do the interior.

Here's some sun shots he sent me the next day:

That scratch from earlier is mostly gone:

I wish I had more after shots but it was late at night. I'll upload more if he sends them.

Here's some before and after shots of his trim though. Seems more and more SUVs and cars are having a ton of plastic trim. I used Trim Detailer.

    I love detailing trim.

Here's a before (not sure what he got on it):

    After

    With flash

I'll see if I can post more after pics. Looked like a new car.

The results are great. That is too funny. Start out with black and it turns out to be dark blue. Wonder what his title says. lol.

The suv looks a lot better. Way to go.
