Re: Bad Interior -- Ford Taurus X Wagon Detail

First off, I must say the Taurus looks great! It looks like it was a long 12 hours! 40,000 miles and no cleaning what so ever? Sheesh! Nice work Jonny!

Second, you mention the black plastic on the back. Are you talking about the plastic on top of the rear bumper, below the cargo door? BlackWOW is pretty impressive stuff, however, it is still simply a dressing. I've used Showroom New with great results that lasted for years, 'till I sold the car. My mother's Expedition has plastic just like that in the same area. I clean it with some M39 if it is really bad, or just soap and water while washing, and apply Gold Class Trim Detailer and it looks great until it runs/wears off of course. Some may disagree with me, but in my experience detailing cars, plastic is just something that needs to be dressed regularly to keep it looking good.

I would try UP on the plastic, if you haven't yet.

        nice work!
on a different note .. when you vacuum, do you vacuum in different directions to give the illusion of stripes?

          Thank you!

As far as the carpet.... that is a little trick I learned. It is really hard to do it with a vacuum. It usually doesn't have enough suction to do it especially on really low tight carpet. And carpet cleaning machines are too bulky to make good looking lines....

Here is the trick. Clean the carpet. Then take an upholstery brush or any firm short bristle brush. Just draw the brush in opposite directions to make the lines. You will have sweet professional looking lines.

          Hope this helps!
