  • Advance Detail Chile-VW Gli (hacked)

    Hi MOL,

i have been getting alot of work lately (which is good) and heres one of them, i had to go on my dads truck (suburban) because i have been working on fixing my heat radiator (interior heater) so everything is apart. i will probably have to wait until next year to fix it jaja.
    ---------------------------------------------------

hope i can put it back together, i labeled and took pixs of every screw.

well on to the detail, this client called me for a Mini Detail (my wash and sealent pack) to remove some glaze streaking (he said) from a recent polish, i showed up at around 9-10am to find a very nice VW GLi in the shade, it didnt look too bad besides being dirty, so i asked him to move it to the sun for the damage inspection (iam ordering the brinks xeon) THEN!!!
    -----------------------------------------

pro guys probably already know what iam talking about, by looking at those 3 pics!!
    --------------------------------------

CAN YOU SEE IT!!! i could not believe how so much severe damage this monkey did!! even if i tried to do something like that i cant. probably this is how they got there (note:porsche)
(nota:porshe)

the only thing is that i have to congradulate the guy that did it because he did not missed a panel or sq. inch
after talking to the owner and explaining the damage, we decided to go into correction..now after like an our of testing diferent pads, polishes, polishers, speeds and preasure, we found a nice combo that would finish nicely and remove the damage
    -----------------------

    lets start-comenzemos

the rims also were removed, de-tared, sealed and instaled

    Before-antes

    After-Despues

The interior recieved a minor cleaning with leather conditioner

    and engine:

then topped it off with some 'nuba.
y despues terminamos con una 'nuba.

now after 7 hard working hours, we were rewarded with perfection
alot of pictures so they speak for themself.
    ---------------

great now go home and come back tomorow to work on his dads mercedes. hope you enjoyed the writeup.

        First, looks GREAT!

But I have to ask... the hacked detailing job prior.... how do they manage to do something like that? I'm guessing you'd need to be a hack on a rotary? I can't imagine that it would be possible with a DA. If this is correct, is it "easy" to hack up paint like that with a rotary?

Nelson, I was taking a sip of my coffee when I saw this and it just about got projected out of my nostrils!!!

How can someone violate a car like this and call it a detail?? O'well, as they say here in EMS, this is job security. I have a feeling that these "monkeys" will have your car fixed and back on the road in no time with all their customers coming to you for a real detail!!

            Awsome job as always!!

Hope you have a warm, safe Christmas!!

Great job! I would have been embarassed to put out that kinda work and leave it in the condition that the previous detailers did. By the way what kinda pad(s) did you use on that car. I'm getting the new G110 v2 next month and seeing what the experts use in with different problems.

Feliz Navidad y Buen Ano Nuevo amigo!

From the pictures Nelson provided, he started off with a rotary and a Meguiar's maroon cutting pad. Where he went from there I don't know; he doesn't have any pictures showing the next step.

Nelson, again job well done. You are an impressive detailer with a great eye for the small stuff.

me too, i was shocked when he pulled it into the sun, the owner was more that happy.

i have no idea how someone can do that, but from what i have seen, it was done with wool pad-rotary-and 3m glaze (its not the glaze but the mixure of tools) and tilting the pad at 45 degres to get that holograms, i used some 105 cutting compound and wool pad on my rotary on a black car today and even like that i could not get that level of holograms. i was impressed to say the least.

HAHA,Sean you need a new keyboard now, i bet a real monkey could polish better! this work was suposedly done by a prestigious paint shop, the owner showed me another car that was taken to a shop also and some how the managed to scratch all the glass, with probaly sand in a rag. he asked me if i can fix it, but with my equipment i cant work on glass.

Hi! i dont know how the owner did not see that, probaly because it was covered under a glaze or he just did not know, he gave me props on my web page because its very educational. in pads i tried a whole bunch, but what game me results was marron pad with 105 cutting compound to cut thru the damage and then a pass with a marron pad and DA on ultimate compound, even with this agresive combo the finish i was able to get was incredible. nothing after that besides m21
