Re: 2003 chevy impala paint correction and wax
i wet sanded. It was my first time. The headlights felt REALLY rough! like sandpaper! lol. It looks like over spray or something! IDK! So i started with 2000 and it did nothing! so i went to 800 and started gettin some stuff off. Then went back over with 2000. Did two coats of UC. And followed up with two coats of Plast-x. They look better but not good @ all!!! They feel smooth?? HELP!!! lol

Re: 2003 chevy impala paint correction and wax
Now when you say coats... It sounds like you applied the product like wax.
A mini powerball and an 18 volt drill have worked wonders for me.

At this point, you will most likely need a rotary buffer with a product aggressive enough to remove wetsanding scratches such as:
M105, M95, M86, M84, M85
The products I mentioned are abrasive enough to remove wetsanding scratches. Here is what I would do:
1. Wetsand with 1000 grit in horizontal strokes for a good 5 minutes on each headlight. Wipe off any water and carefully inspect the lights to be sure they have a uniform appearance.
2. Wetsand with 2000 grit in vertical strokes this time, for 5 minutes again on each headlight. Wipe off the water, make sure they have a uniform appearance.
At this point, I am not sure which products you have, therefore if you have M105, this is a good product to use by hand. Work it in with a microfiber towel if you don't have a rotary polisher, however you really need to work it in with passion, don't just lightly rub the headlights. You should be able to see the scratches being removed and clarity being restored to the headlights.
Once the headlights are clear, you can use M205 since you already have it or even PlastX to finish them off.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
