Recently we had the pleasure of detailing a 1985 Piper Archer, for the Executive Director of Angels Flight West Alan Dias.
Angel Flight West is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs.
Mr. Dias hired us to treat his aircraft to some well deserved TLC.
The airplane wasn't in very bad condition but it was due for a thorough cleaning and a Superior Shine.
We began our service with a good (waterless) wash.

I then proceeded to polish the paint with Meguiars #105 and W5000 wool pad on a DW849 polisher. This may seem like a very aggressive combination but aircraft paint is much harder than passenger car paint. And in my gentle and caring hands this combination worked out perfectly.

Using the above mentioned combination I was able to polish the finish to a brilliant swirl free shine. We chased the #105 with Meguiars #20 polymer sealer applied with a w8006 yellow foam pad on a G100 dual action polisher.

After sufficient time had past and the #20 sealant was dry, I hand buffed the finish to a brite shine!
