  • Advance Detail Chile-2002 Mazda Miata (Swirl Edition)

    Hello Mol,

i have been tested lately by the level of correction needed for vehicles, this was another nice car i worked on for a friend/client, he bought it a couple of weeks before bringing it to me for some damage correccion, this is a dealer vehicle which might explain the swirls and scratches, after removing the licence plates we started to take some pictures (scroll down for the good stuff):

    Hola Mol,

I took out my 2 fav custom buckets jeje and started the usual washing method using a wax remover and degreaser soap mixure. after a water prewash.

    Conv. Top was washed
Tela de convertible fue lavado tambien:

While i was working on the paint my bro worked on the lower body,

After drying the inspection takes place!!
Despues del secado llega la inspeccion!!

Veryyyy niceee.... after getting this look:
    i went to this
    thinking about what process
i decided to give the KBM method with my DA just to see.
after a quick pass i was rewarded with this:

Veryy niceee (in the good way) a mayor improvement but not enough for the deep RIDS, after finishing some testing, i decided to hit it with my rotary in a 3 step process finishing with a DA for hologram free finish. But first we had to mask some areas.

    Lets begin-comenzemos

Hood finished, fender next-Capot terminado, tapabarro por continuar:

doors were next: las puertas fueron siguientes:

some of the trouble areas (key scratches from people that love your car) were treated by feather sanding.

Now something that made mad was this hack licence install of the braket mount, they used some LONGGG bolts and damaged the bumper!! how dumb do you have to be???

my dad fixed the mount, used some new bolts (the way it should be) and added foam to the back to prevent scratching.

Finaly we where ready for deliver!! one of the things i didnt have was the clients cell number, i forgot to write it down on my checklist but after some searching i found it (it wont happen again)

now for some that forgot the condition heres some before and afters

hope you enjoyed the pics, after finishing on sunday y was scheduled the next day...i was greeted by this car (Rotary killer)!! its a 2008 civic si (also a dealer car), here are some shots (fixable????) the post will come soon!!

    Thanks!! keep on shining!!

Wow, Nelson. That paint was pretty hammered. It now looks wet to the touch. Beautiful work.

Nice work. You put alot of attention to detail into that car...pulling of the rims, taking the side mirror off. I'm impressed.

What a fantastic write up - in two languages!! That's awesome enough, but the work on the car is just top notch. That little Miata had enough swirls in it to cover two full sized sedans!

Thank you for taking what must have been an awful lot of time to put this post together.

thanks Colin, it was pretty bad, some of the deepest defect (key scratches) i was not able to correct but the owner was amazed at how he could not see them.

thanks, we worked on it about 7 hours between 3 guys (me, bro, my dad) it would have been faster but i am the only one that do the polishing, but for a full exterior detail and interior vacuming its great that we do it in one day, also with help, i dont end up hating detailing.

it was swirly!! hehe, some one tried to fix the key scratches in the truck lid with some polishing compound and made a bigger mess.

Thanks Rasky! its alot of work to do a post (besides taking pictures while working) i do it in spanish also because alot of the people here in chile visit the MOL forum, also other people that visit from spanish countries, so it helps them alot to understand the process, besides when i do some jobs, i sent a copy of the write up to the owner later on, it really helps to show the work done with pictures, instead of telling them when they come to pick up the vehicle
