  • HAMMERED 2005 Silverado

Here is an '05 Silverado that is just hammered. There are rock chips and deep gouges all over it. It is a work truck that has 130 some thousand miles on it. The finished results are definitley not even close to my best work, but I have been trying to juggle waiting on a very sick wife, our 2 kids work and details. Luckily it is my father-in-laws truck and he just wanted it cleaned up a bit before a road trip he is gonna take. I am almost ashamed to even share this one.

    Process:

    Clay
105 on a red wool pad
205 on a LC polish pad
    topped with NXT
    All season on the tires
    HD on the plastic parts
Under coat spray on the frame.

    Before:

    Afters:

    Thanks for viewing.

    Nice work Tracy

I really like the color and how you gave it that dripping wet paint look, the tires and black plastic trim look great too.

        Nice work.

What color LC pad did you use? Was it flat pad?

I used the white LC pad for the finish polish. It was the dimpled pad. Thank you for the nice comments guys.

What did you use on the wheel wells and how did you get the rust/dirt off of the frame rails under there? Did you remove the tires to clean the wheel wells? And about how much time did it take to do them? some of my family members have ford F150's and the wheel wells and suspension parts looked fine while there where wet, but after they dried they looked dull again.

I pulled the tires off and washed under the wheel wells. Used a grinder with a cup brush to clean the rust off the frame than painted them. After the paint was dry i dressed the plastics with hyper dressing and applied some cleaner wax to the painted part.

Nice work Tracy! It's those little details like painting the frame that really make the job. Nice correction work on the paint too...looks like she was definitely a work truck.

Thank you very much. Painting the frame made a huge difference in the way that truck looked. The rusty frame was such an eyesore.
