  • 04 Honda Accord Detail

I've really been bringing in the business here right before the snow falls-again! Here is one car I did recently. I love the front and the color, but I dearly hate the tail lights!
    Process:
*2 bucket method with gold class car wash
(had to empty the rinse bucket out 3 times because it got way to nasty!)
*Claybared the entire car with meguiars quick detailer and clay.
*Washed again with two bucket and dawn dish soap to remove all wax.
*started off with three manual passes of swirl and scratch x on the entire car.
*next used meguiars cleaner wax to prepare it.
*then used meguiars gold class paste wax to seal the deal.
*applied tire shine to the tires and wheel wells.
*removed scratches from and waxed headlights.

Didn't come in too bad of shape

    nasty scratch along the hood

a scrape along the rear passenger door

a scrape and some spider cracks I had no idea how to repair

    another scratch or two

I got so caught up in my work I forgot to take more process pictures, so here are some finals...

    finished paint

    tire shine is soaking in

what can I say, i hate the rear of this car!

Made a good $35 on this car. $5 more than I ask for!

    thanks for looking!

again, I am very sorry for the pictures being so huge, but everything I try and they always end up enormus! If there is a trick, could you make them smaller in this post for me? thanks

        Good job on the Accord!

You probably could get away with skipping the dawn wash, clay should be sufficient enough to get rid of the old wax (did the paint bead up with the first wash?)
You could also get away with skipping on the cleaner wax since you already cleaned up the paint using the SwirlX & ScratchX (did you do 3 passes each or all together?) I would use ScratchX for the isolated defects vs the whole car SwirlX.
With winter coming up, especially in Erie, I would go with 2 coats of NXT as it will last longer with the elements that you guys face up there!

Did you do all this by hand? If so then the car looks excellent!

        Keep up the great work!

Only $35?! Cheapest around my area is $65 for wash and wax. I bet you are getting quite a bit of business for that price.

looks great, one word of caution, when you apply the tire shine, place a towel or cardboard by the tires so that you don't leave grease spots on your customer's or your own driveways...

the car looks fantastic. for 30 dollars i would of just washed the car and threw tire shine and called it a day.... for all the work you did i would of atleast charged 100. and also skipped a few steps.

but all in all the car looks fantastic like i said earlier. keep up the good work

I probably could have skipped a few steps, but i had time to waste and I was on a sugar high(dug into the Halloween candy) ha and on customers driveways I do put a towel on the ground, but on my driveway, iv'e forgot so many times that the entire driveway is covered and never gets wet when it rains. =]
