First off, I must apologize. I took some before pictures that do not necessarily have a corresponding after picture. However, I don't think that will be a problem. Trust me, all those nasty areas got cleaned. OK, on with the show.
The car that we're dealing with is a 1992 Honda Civic LX 4 door sedan, white, automatic transmission, approximately 275,000 miles on the engine. The odometer on this car is not original, it was replaced. My parents bought this car for less than $3,000. We're going to use it as a run-around car and hope it lasts a while. It's in pretty good shape, but it needed a little pick-me-up. That's where I come in. I started this car on Tuesday afternoon, and finished on Saturday evening, putting a few hours every day into it. I got to the point where I kinda got tired of looking at it. But it was worth it in the end.
Process
Interior
Lots of APC on carpet and plastic
Detailer Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner on seats and some areas of the carpet
Hyper Dressing on plastic parts
D120 Glass Cleaner on glass
Assorted brushes and towels
M40 on vinyl portions of the seats
vacuum with assorted attachments
Exterior
Wash with NXT car wash, 2BM, microfiber chenille mitt
Clay with Meguiar's blue clay and Last Touch 1:1
Wash again
Dry with Absorber
Pull into garage
Polished with D151 by hand (this seemed to work best - I also tried Color X and Ultimate Compound with less satisfying results)
NXT 2.0 (allowed to cure for a day or so)
M16
Glass was clayed twice, polished with M04, cleaned with D120, then sealed with M16 (I'm still experimenting to see if M16 really works on glass. So far it's working great)
Mirrors, cowl, door pillar plastic got Ardex Viper Wax
Wheel wells got Stoner Trim Shine
Bottom plastic got Exterior Trim Coating aerosol
Tires got Hot Shine tire gel
I think that about covers it. I think I actually could have taken more pics than I did, but I didn't want to draw it out and make it boring. What fun is that? That, and I finished the interior as it was getting dark outside, so I had to quick put the seats back in and put it back together. So anyway, please enjoy and comment.

Wish I could've gotten it a little better, but I had to be careful because of all the electronics and wires in that area

after washing and claying. no paint cleaners used at this point. Just a quick FYI: I used the D151 to get this weird hazing off that was on the paint. I tried to take pics, but they didn't turn out very good, especially considering it's white paint. It still needs work - the roof and the trunk are hammered with scratches and water spots, and the hood and horizontal areas have bird bomb etch marks, but hopefully when I get a buffer I can take care of that.

didn't have to worry about cleaning the engine, as it got cleaned at the dealership and was clean enough

Intermission time! Go and stretch your legs, and enjoy some fall pics taken at my house while you're at it.

Not a cloud in the sky!

Looking down from my driveway

OK, back to the show. I went up to Norris Dam to get pics of the Civic and the fall views.
fall colors on the way to Norris

happened to spot this fellow crossing the road, so I slowed down to get a pic since there were no cars behind me

I was less than 20 feet away (still in the car) when I took this pic. I didn't zoom at all - this is seriously how close I was

pardon the dirt - it was from my feet

don't worry, I cleaned all of 'em. But they all looked the same, so I only took one pic.
