BMW 323 Ci

A friend of mine hired me to detail his highly neglected BMW. The main problem was that it had hard water spots from being parked on the street and being hit by sprinklers. It became our pet project, and the subject of a lot of forum reading, product research, and waiting for things to arrive from Amazon. It also represents my first foray into the rotary buffer.

So more about the process I used on this car:

I sprayed it down with a 50/50 degreaser/water mix to cut the initial crud down and strip any product off the car (I doubt there was any). Then followed up with 2 bucket method using NXT car wash. I then clayed the entire car with the consumer Meguiars clay bar kit with showtime instant detailer.

I got the water spots off the windows with the Makita Rotary with wool pad and Meguiars Medium Cut Compound. I used the same combination to get the spots off the headlight lenses, and to get the impacted black paint off the rear bumper.

I cautiously buffed the water spots off the paint with Meguiars Foam Polishing Pad and Swirl Remover 2.0 (the most mild combo of products for the rotary I had). After that I used Meguiars Show Car Glaze followed by NXT 2.0 liquid wax.

I used degreaser on the carpets and extracted the rinse water with a hoover carpet cleaning vac with upholstery attachment. I used Zymol products on the leather interior.
