Advance Detail Chile-97 Suburban 1500

Hi guys after finishing the expedition in my other post, i had another monster to do.... a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 (even the name is long) well i knew i would need some help here because it was realy dirty, so my dad came in to help, it was a real learning experience for him, his first time at detailing. We started around 12:30 and stoped at 5-6pm we were not able to finish everything we wanted so we will need another day. to my dad 15 minutes washing a car is an eternity so you might imagine how 6 hours felt like. i will pick up a rotary on wendsday.. this paint is harddd!!

Truck Use:
Daily use work truck.
Parked outside.

Diagnostic:
Swirls
Overspray
Hard water in windows
RIDS
black grease like "stuff" on tires and wheelwels
Pillars needed some attention
Wax in the cracks and handles

Medicine:
Wash/ Micro Sponge/2BM
Vroom drying towel
Detailing Brushes
Megs Mild clay
Dual Action @ 5 spd.
Marron Meg Pad
Ultimate compound
Yellow pad
Nano Polish
Megs Quick Wax
Hyper Dressing 7:1

Clay timeee... this truck had alot of contamination..a 12x12 spot turned my clay black.

Nelson, other than the pictures being way too big, you did a fantastic job! I love that body style Suburban and can't believe how good you made it look. Awesome job. I'm really liking your threads and your attention to detail. Keep it up and keep 'em coming.

i resized the pictures, they look better now, thanks for the kind words, it means alot coming from you guys, iam just starting this business in Chile and have been getting alot of response here, i have a pt cruizer tomorrow (a big change from the 2 suvs) so i will have more pics of that work also.. thanks again for the comments...

The PT Cruiser is probably going to feel like a sprint compared to the marathon you completed with the Expedition and Suburban. Can't wait for more details from you. You certainly do a great job and have great write-ups.

cn: yeah i hope it goes fast, i had to move the apointment to saturday due to the owner being buzy, but i have a nissan primera for thursday and a bmw 330 on friday and the pt on sat. i have a mini cooper also that wants a service (that would be funn) things are starting to pick up here, i know i can get alot of business here..

Nelson, very nice work. It looks like you were able to remove the swirling with UC and the PC - you mentioned you were picking up a rotary for the hard paint. Were there other areas not pictured that were giving you trouble?

thanks Kerrin, actualy i will be picking up the rotary because it took alot of long passes with the DA to be able to remove the swirls (working 16"x16" area), the DA is pretty safe for correction and it gave me a LSP surface, but it lacks the cutting power for the amount of time i'am given. the DA is great if time is not limited. but for faster work, a pass with rotary and then DA would be faster IMO.
