  • Peugeout 106 gti pugger me!

This is a down grade if ever you have seen it.
My client whom owned a lotus exige s that was very well pampered by myself has finally parted company with it for a deposit on a house, he needed a run around for the time being.........a stepping stone as it were.
    Well from this –

    To this –

    And so it begins.
He called telling me about the car and that it needed the life putting back into it so I gave an over the phone quote and looked after him as he has been a very loyal client for sometime.
Way under quoted the job tbh but, hey!....win some, lose some, it was a challenge never the less.
Rinsed the life out of it before even remotely trying to wash it as it had so much built up grime.
Wheels were attempted with VP billberry which didn’t do a thing, onto VP blue acid wheel gel which didn’t do to bad but they still needed some stronger gear so i borrowed some Acid from one of the valeters at his place and worked the wheels to death with a scouring wheel brush ( not the nicest of methods but believe me these were hammered and one was caught out with a failed calliper so brake dust was encrusted )

Usual procedure of DG apc and agitate all crevices, door shuts etc and rinse.
Washed with DG901 and megs washmitt from top to bottom then rinsed and same again to achieve the best wash possible.
Dryed using megs waffle weave and VP citrus bling.
And into the unit for a scope of the major swirling I had to contend with and yes youve guessed it, swirl city!

    Wing after.

The whole vehicle was well abused and needed wet sanding tbh but my time frame was from 11am to 17.00pm so the best was achieved in the time given, I wanted to go further but time wouldn’t permit.
Tooled up with my favourite menzerna power gloss, power finish and final finish and my flex polisher I had a toss up between cutting pad first or lambswool but lambswool took the lead as speed was needed and has given me plentifull great results in the past.
To say the paint was tough as old boots was an understatement, it took so much working to achieve anything remotely passable.
    Rear quarter.

    And in progress.

    Door and quarter 50/50.

I had a sudden urge to use dodo lime prime as I’ve had good results with this for mild correction work so thought I would give it a go at refining the finish I had achieved via lambswool , power finish and a smudge of power gloss.
All arches, bumpers and random edges were polished and refined via menzerna 80mm spot polishing / finishing pads and power finish.
The results were as per my opinion.........amazing, rich dark black again and refined the finish very well, leaving it slick ready for a coat of dodo RB juiced edition ( was going to use finish kare 1000p but my new tin didn’t arrive until this afternoon at my house DOH! ).
I do apologise for the lack of pictures but once again time wouldn’t permit too much messing around.
Majority was a great success but there was way to much heavy swirling on the bonnet for me to get done in time.
All trim and tyres dressed with CG new look trim gel, arches dressed, glass polished with valetex GP.
Wheels polished with AG srp then sealed with smart rimwax.
    And after pictures.

    And the money shot.

    Thanks for looking.

Great work Scott It looks brand new again. These are my favourite details to look at,because of the difference. Doesn't matter to me what it is.

I'm a big fan of the old puggies. Very popular when i was in the UK. Still are i'm sure.

Good going in the short time you had.

This should be classified as an extreme makeover with those wheels! Excellent work as always, you seem to get some interesting vehicles and stories about them. Well at least this one didn't have any type of vegetation growing on it like that van you did.
Again keep up with the fabulous work!

Tbh, i feel there is always a story behind the canvas you have put infront of you so rather than keep it away from everyone i tell it to make the write up a little more enjoyable.

Scott, awesome work! The wheels are stunning. The car actually looks nice now. Too bad for the Lotus, though. Brought a tear to my eye.
