    Hey Zach,

It came out great, Of course it will look even better tomorrow morning since the LSP has some time to setup overnight, you could even put another coat of M21 on tomorrow morning if you like.

I also liked the sun shots displaying the correction work

Be sure to post up some more sun shots tomorrow

I'd be sure to check your crevices and such, because it looks like there's some polishing residue or wax in there. I can't quite tell from the night pics. Other than that, it looks great! Nice job!

          Mmm... Nissan, I love it!

If I may make a suggestion, I think UC and a polishing pad is too gentle for this particular paint job. Trust me, I have three Nissans and I know how tough their OEM paint is. You may want to consider getting some Lake Country cutting pads and M105 to combat defects. Just a friendly suggestion. Hope you didn't take that as some sort of hostility.

If tree sap is causing you problem, you can try using Meguiar's concentrated glass cleaner at full strength, and use the bug removal method explained by Mark Kleis to dissolve those tree sap.

looks like the UC made a pretty big improvement on the swirl marks, plus he never mentioned how hard or soft the paint is.

all suggestions are welcome bud, i was wondering if nissan paint was hard as it took quite a bit for me to correct even the amount i did. Theres still probably 25% more correction avaiulable from what i did, as i can still see pieces and parts of swirl marks among other things.

I have M105 on my next list of goods from ADS as well as some Megs 2.0 cutting pasds......whats the diff in Megs and LC?

Whatever you do, dont use the Meguiars cutting pads on the G110. It will haze up the paint and create more problems.

Is this truck a daily driver?

You have probably achieved a 80 to 90 percent correction which is pretty good for a daily driver. For a show car you will be looking for 98- 100 percent correction.

The thing is you dont have to aim for perfection.

Meguiar's cutting pads are generally not recommended for use on Dual Action. Although it has been improved over the previous versions, the Meguiar's SB 2.0 cutting pads still cause hazes and marring on paint when used with a DA. I seriously thought that Meguiar's has solved the marring problem with the Softbuff 2.0 cutting pad. But Tim Lingor has informed me that the SB2.0 cutting pad still causes marring issues when used with the DA.

The Lake Country orange pads usually finish quite well and marring free when used with the DA, especially on harder paints.

yes its a DD vehicle, which lives at work in a railroad yard, near cement plants and dust and gravel daily.

You really knocked the swirls down on that truck, as long as you wash it properly with proper technique and proper tools ( good washing/drying tools, gritguards, etc) and keep a good coat of wax on it, it will stay swirl free like that for long time and you could even just go over it again with M205 in a couple months too.

Great job and keep us updated

Re: Dads 2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab

Huge improvement in the finish on the Nissan, and considering this was your first attempt with a G110 you did an incredible job!

But 8 passes with UC and 4 with M205? How are you defining a "pass"? Usually a "pass" refers to an application of product and the working of a 2' x 2' area, regardless how many times you go over that area with a single application of product on the pad. So even though you may go side to side, up and down, side to side again and up and down again, we still consider ALL of that to be a single pass. Just curious.

As for using W7207 Soft Buff 2.0 Cutting Pads on a D/A polisher, we don't recommend it for a couple of primary reasons:
                            • It can haze paint due to the aggressive nature of the pad combined with the action of the D/A polisher. Not always, but often enough that it's use falls outside a range where we can recommend it. But in some cases it actually leaves a very nice finish - really depends on the paint/gel coat it's being used on
                            • The random movement of the D/A polisher, especially at higher speeds & pressures, puts an enormous strain on the hook & loop fastening system and this generates a lot of heat. The W7207 foam construction is such that it is sensitive to this heat build up on the back side of the pad, where it can't be dissipated.

There is always a lot of discussion about the heat generated by a rotary buffer but not much discussion of D/A polisher heat.

Heat from a rotary is primarily a product of friction between the face of the pad and the surface being worked on (paint, gel coat, etc). Since the heat is on the face of the pad, it's also being put into the paint. While this helps with defect correction, it's also what leads to potential problems such as burned paint, paint wrinkling on flexible substrates, etc.

Heat generated by a D/A buffer exists primarily in the friction caused by the hook & loop fastener system being yanked back and forth. This is a surprisingly violent action as the random nature of the buffer means the machine is almost constantly trying to break this grip. When used on very high speeds with moderate to heavy pressure, the heat can be so great that it can start to degrade the adhesive used in backing plates or for attaching the velcro to the back of the pad, and sometimes even the foam itself. Since there is no fresh product being applied to this side of the pad, and since there is almost no air movement over this side even when the machine is switched off, heat buildup can be quite surprising.

Didn't mean to threadjack, it just seemed like a timely place to interject this info.

                              Great work CC.

Those sun shots were really well taken. That is something that i find really hard to do.

I would say given circumstances and not having detail shop conditions, you do really well to shoot for about 80-85% correction. I have to do the same and I'm happy with that.

I'd say,if you have a garage big enough to work in,with appropriate lighting, then going for that higher percentage of correction is okay.

Your work has showed how good the DA's are swirl removal.
