  • 1930 pierce arrow the mission

This is a 1930 Pierce Arrow with very fragile paint especially the black. The mission was to remove the dried white wax from all the cracks in the paint from a previous detailer. Than improve the gloss and DOI without causing any damage to the loose paint.

    The process

    • Wipe down with #34 and note areas that could be improved
    • 105 DA on hood, doors and rear of car
    • 205 DA on same
    • 205 DA on Black where paint was ok
    • Used the Tornador with # 34 to remove the old wax from the cracks
    • Turtle wax color magic black polish DA lightly over the areas with cracks
    • # 21 on hood, doors and rear
    • Final wipe down all over with UQW
    • Westley’s Bleche-White on white walls

The cracks are still there but I was able to do a descent job of hiding them.

Wow What a cool car and a great job!

    It looks amazing!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

          Very nice work, as usual!!!

Looks like you have more time for detailing after you've finished with that Tundra tailgate!

That's a sweet car. Single stage lacquer. Miss polishing them. You did an awesome job on making the arrow looked better.

BTW, look forward to see the tailgate.

Beautiful recovery on the Pierce Arrow! It really is different working on a classic like that, isn't it?!

Darn, looks fantasic. One of my customers has a 29 chevy sedan and a 30 chysler sedan. Lots of cracks just like your arrow. Any suggestions? I was think DA on 5 with 80 or 83 (2-3) passes. I a little hesitant to use 105 on single stage. I'm going to show him your pics to give him a positive outlook.
