  • Finally getting busy :) a few recent afters, plus my baby and others :)

alright guys, i have a slew of recently completed paint perfection jobs.
they are mainly "tuner" cars, with a few high end and suv's.

now my only problem is, i completely 100% all the time forget to bring my CAMERA, therefore, i have to present to you, some high quality 2.1mega pixel camera PHONE pictures LOL. enjoy.

the first up is a clients Scion TC wide-body show car.
it was painted, then wet sanded, and buffed with a filler and nothing else. when the filler washed off, the gentleman called me to get the real buff job layed down on this beautiful car.
    hours of effort: 13 hours.
paint correction: 90%, some wet sanding marks had damaged paint through clearcoat and therefore i opted to not remove them.

    process:
Carbon fiber hood: speed glaze X2 passes - NXT 2.0
    Paint: hyper wash, clay(blue clay), M105, M205, NXT 2.0, #21.
Wheels: wheel brightener 4:1, wipe down, dress tires with hyper dressing.
    interior: untouched.

mainly after shots, a couple random befores. i would rather not relive this one so i only snapped a few of the "better spots"

a little blurry BUT it really was this bad.

    another

    light streaks on mirrors

    now for the good stuff

    carbon fiber hood AFTER

    fender after ONLY M105

    door after M105/M205

drivers side AFTER all steps but #21

drivers side after everything, front bumper UNTOUCHED at this point. im a scatter brained detailer.

pardon the garage, moving in and out. a halfway shot

and now i got lazy. finished the job, got some afters in the sun

wheels are custom 1 off, 19X9 in the rear, 19X7.5 in front, 0mm offset. 4" lip

comments concerns? ) see the next post, for the next addition to the collection of projects

next on the list. 1988 Porsche 944. the interior of this car was immaculate, however the exterior (single stage guards red paint) was faded, chalky, and basically ruined.

    Hours of effort: 7
    Paint correction: 85 %
the age of the paint as well as the fact it sat under a tree for the past eight years meant that this beauty would eventually need a repaint, for now the owner wanted it buffed and looking as good as it could.

    process:
paint: hyper wash, clay (red clay), Diamond Cut 2.0 (2 passes), M205(2 passes), #21
wheels: orange citrus, wipe down, tire shine
    interior: condition leather, vacuum.

the baby: washed and clayed.... GROSS.

    another shot GROSS

    TEST SPOT. some victory achieved

    another shot, still disgusting.

mini reflection. not as good as i want it, but the best i could do.

progress: hiding the cars finished paint with #21. owner kept trying to sneak by and peak in.

    AFTER
    FINALLY !!!

    what do you think?

The protective plastic (similar to star shield) was old and sealed to the paint, i could not remove it, though i wish i could, it was moldy and gross looking

thats all for installation number 2

the next group is my favorite, though not quite as impressive. hope you enjoy soon to follow.

Next group. these cars were just cars which did not need much help. i detailed them, some at work, some at home, but they were fairly well kept and not in need of serious paint correction.

random finished shots include paint corrected hoods, fenders, a few reflection shots, etc.

      some highlights:

      68(?) camaro convertible
      BMW's 3,5,7 series
SL 550 designo edition, SL500 white
      infiniti FX35
black escalade EXT - beautiful after shot. took 5 hours at work.
      chrysler crossfire (04, 12000 miles)
my friend's 07 lotus EXIGE-s modified heavily (bright orange)

      PROCESS USED:
for work related vehicles, i had to use a product called clear cut compound, and ARDEX topaz paste. though we did use #82 meguiars after the compound.
goal: NO SWIRLS ))) and brighten the car to perfection.

this BMW 330ci was an old one, done in fall, just found the pictures.

NISSAN 300ZX twin turbo (650 horsepower) - also from fall

      seven series

      CAMARO

mercedes Designo and fx35 owned by same person....

      BMW 330 after cut/polish/wax
      and interior detail

BLACK E class mercedes hood, came off the lot with bird etchings, overspray, and scratches

      ESCALADE reflection

      crossfire

      LOOKS WET. like ICE.

friends lotus "pumpkin" -just wanted a wash, i just happen to love the car

i brought my own bucket... no worries. haha

thats all for the random edition.
THE FINAL CURRENT EDITION is still in progress... but i have some up to date stuff to follow this ))))

      ENJOY.
      im crazy by the way.

        S2000's

        my friend's 2001 AP1 spa yellow pearl S2000
my girlfriends 2004 AP2 suzuka blue (limited edition color) S2000

both were in desperate need of a complete detail.

no befores of the yellow one, i just got to work.

Hours of effort: 5 hours on the yellow car.
        Paint correction: 95%
car was well kept, but it was tracked frequently on road atlanta. rock chips are all over the bumper and side mirrors.

        process:
paint: hyper wash, clay (blue clay), Diamond Cut 2.0 (2 passes), M205, ARDEX diamond polish 4, #21
wheels: wheel brightener 10:1 hyper dressing
        interior: condition leather, vacuum.

my friend requested no interior shots, due to aftermarket accessories which are hard to get, and very sought after.

pulled the car in to begin work.

we wanted to get done, so we could cruise the town afterward, therefore, no in progress shots, just some quick snappies.

        AFTER completion

        SO BRIGHT

        out on the town

        love that angry banana car

PEARL POPPING and looking drop dead gorgeous

shortly after my friend left for the evening, i began tear down of the girlfriends car.
she tapped the back of an explorer a couple months ago in the rain.
cracked the headlight and therefore moisture got in.
i took apart the front end, piece by piece by piece X26.... annoying, long, frustrating.

OH this was after washing and claying by the way.

removed the headlight and begin to use the process as follows

        Blue car process:
hours of effort: CURRENTLY @ 14 hours, most likely 20 + when said and done.
paint correction: 99% better. looks almost FACTORY show room.
process: hyper wash, clay (blue clay), M105 2 passes, heavy swirl marks, M205 2 passes, plastx( headlights and tail lights), Diamond crystal 4 (ARDEX), #21, NXT 2.0 after curing time.

picture time. removed the bumper, getting to the headlight

headlight removed, time to begin the work!!

got the lights to work with, grabbed my rotary (de-walt) and hit the M105 all over, it got rid of 95% of the swirl marks, and most of the deeper scratchs on the bumper.

working like a mad man, M105 complete, car looks "decent" some minor marring from M105, nothing serious.

terrible picture quality, i apologize. ill get a real camera for the after shots

the blue on this car is BEAUTIFUL. this is after the M205 passing

reflection to my detailing shelf six feet away.

        my makeshift "stool"

i fell in love with these cars.

SLICK and Shiney. almost a wet look, even without the wax.

work lights galore, car looks almost silver with the camera phone....

i like this dark shot, it shows the depth of the paint though it does not show the beautiful blue/purple tone.

there is the blue again and a swirl free trunk lid

and finally. for the night, i have a shot of how the car looked after a good wash and quick wax. my goal is to make this look DIRTY and grungy. its clean, but there is no depth, no brilliance, just a reflective of sunlight

        enjoy!
please comment. i will get some nice after shots and reflections for you in return )

should be done in two days.

          enjoy!

          Effort: infinity
          paint quality: never good enough.

How did the owner of the red Porsche react?

                Great work!
2006 San Remo Red WRX TR
                2005 Ford Ranger XLT

he acted like he knew it all along... then he gave me a 50 dollar tip he was stunned, said he may not want to sell it anymore.

I don't blame you for lovin' the S2000's.Although they're roadsters,I love the hardtop as on the yellow one.
