Hi.I've been hard at this for the past 5 days.A lot of work was needing done here,to tidy up the bay.The car wasn't used much over the winter and was a lot of oxidization and white spot on all the aluminium parts. So,a lot of time was spent with steel wool and WD40.
The products I used were: NXT Shampoo,Quik Clay & detailer,ScratchX,Hot Rims Mag & Aluminium Polish,IOSSO all metal polish,TechWax 2.0,Natural Shine and two Castrol Products. One was Metal parts cleaner(similair to Gunk) and the other was 'GreenTec Bike Cleaner'.I liked this last one as it is a good heavy duty cleaner which is okay for rubber and plastics and has a soapy/foam consistency.

This was the general condition of the bay as it was:

This was the condition of the throttle body and fuel rail:

This was the condition of the clay after doing the Rocker cover and the suspension mountings:

A 50/50 of the Rocker cover after claying and a bit of ScratchX:

After polishing a lot of aluminium and the SS header.Plastics with Natural Shine and paintwork finished with TechW2.0:

The Candy Apple Red came good again, but I left the HT leads for the next day:

I used only Natural Shine to clean the Dist.End of the HT leads, but it took quite a bit of rubbing. Here's a 50/50 with one started plus the finish:

A couple of the work to clean up the Fuel Rail and Throttle Body, finished with Mag and aluminium polish:

This was the clay after everything was completed, including the bulkhead, and underside of the hood,Still Standing:

Was a lot of hard work, which took quite a bit of time and I've still to paint up a couple of brackets and the front upper part of the radiator. Some places were difficult to get to without removing. The whole bay was washed down also with pressurized water jet and NXT soap, mixed with a mild detergent.
...Eddie.
