A few photos grabbed during Sunday's Dual Action Polishing Day... Four in attendance today, here are their stories in pictures 
Mazda RX-8
First thing that strikes you about this car is the flake in the paint when the light hits it, even if there were also light swirls as well at the start...
Some deeper marks too...
The haze above also detracted from the finish a little. After assessing the thicknesses and removal rates, it was decided to knock back the haze with Intensive Polish and then refine with Final Finish by DA. The owner at work
The rewards after machining:
Cleansed with Lusso and then waxed with Dodo Rubbish Boys Juiced Edition to give the following...
And outside...
Citroen Saxo
A lovely bluey green, but sporting swirls and some deeper scratches...
Intensive Polish was found to give the desired results for most regions...
The owner working away...
Coming up well...
A little bit of spot correction required with 4" polishing pad and IP on these marks...
Reducing them to...
A bit more spot correction...
Hard at work...
The rewards...

VW Golf GTi
Harder paint here, this solid red proved a bit of a challenge but the marks were still happily dealt with by DA - though a little rotary demo was also carried out for fun

Deeper scores in middle pic were the subject of a rotary demo, though patience with Power Gloss on the DA would also have got them out...
Checking the paint thickness...
Working away:
Ensuring the work area stayed small to correct the harder VAG paint...
The rewards...
No more deep scores...
(use the strip light to assess the region with the scores)
Glazed with #7 and waxed with Victoria Concours...
And outisde, more fun sun bursts
Mazda MX-5
Last but not least, and perhaps the biggest challenge of the day? This resprayed Mazda MX-5, with rock solid paint but also bad fading...
Carefully checking and noting the thicknesses...
Now, shocked by quite how hard the paint was, I reverted for experiment to the rotary and some Meguiars #95 Speed Cut Compound, and three hits later (!!) achieved the following....
This was going to need some serious patience from the owner, but he got there by DA with Megs #95 and then refined and what a reward on the paint...
Also a spot of sanding required on some paint splatter :doublesho
Glazed with #7, waxed with Concours and out into the sun...
Now I reckon that is pretty damn impressive considering this was how the paint started...
