Unfortunately yes....such a shame too. Lots of good subtle techniques to learn here from watching Todd. Arm speed on the machine. Little things like draping the cord over your shoulder to prevent it from rubbing up against the paint and marring the finish. Wipedowns. Lighting. Organization of the work area. Typical work/buffing area size on the paint surface. The constant reassessment of the paint condition both in the specific work area and the overall view.
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like. I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.
At the moment Todd is in invisibility mode. Or perhaps it's like one of those heist movies, where they cut into the feed and splice in a rewinding recording of the jewel room "before" the thieves enter.
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

Been at it with 4 inch pads on a the mini flex rotary for a couple hours. I had to do a radio show this morning. Taking 5 for now, but will be back to polishing in a couple of minutes.
Still have to four inch the far side of the Mercedes, then its time to give it a bath and get the dust off.
So far average paint removal has been < .1 mil in most cases, .2 in one area. Not bad considering that I hit most ares with wool/m105 at least 3 times.
Car is going out close to perfect, probably 95%. Gotta love M105/M205.
