  • From Beater to Gangsta: 2000 Nissan Maxima SE

So my beater just got a blown radiator and is out of commission until I receive a new radiator from koyo. Decided to test out some Meguiar's new products. The car's paint was in fairly good condition. Just some scratches and swirls. There's not even a dent on the car.

Here are some shots BEFORE NXT 2.0:

    - Meguiar's Crystal Car Wash
    - Meguiar's Clay Bar
    - Meguiar's Ultimate Compound
    - Meguiar's SwirlX
    - Meguiar's ScratchX Classic

Will coat the car with two layers of NXT 2.0 and perhaps some Hi-Tech Yellow Wax.

Without a swirl-finding gun, I was only able to spot swirls under the sun. I tried to catch as much swirl as I could, but there are a few spots that I missed, but I can't really care. Major areas that are highly visible are completely free of swirls. Swirls can only be seen in some inconspicious areas.

WOW! Is that what "gangsta" looks like? I have always wondered...

    Nice work on the detail.

The paint looks REALLY good, especially for a daily driver. Wax it and enjoy it!

Thanks for the kind feedbacks! You rarely see kind comments these days on other automotive forums!!!

The Nissan maxima is by no means "Gangsta". I just used the word to emphasize on the deep glossy black color I have obtained from using UC, SwirlX, and ScratchX 1.0.

Anyway, I just applied two layers of NXT 2.0 wax. What I have noticed is that the first coat looked very beautiful. The second layer seems to diminish the deep lustre of the first layer. Keep in mind, I applied very thin layers to the paint using Meguiar's foam applicators and wiped off the dried product after 20-30min. Perhaps a final wipe down with MF with a very small amount of UQD will improve the shine. Currently there is a small film remaining.

I will receive my KOYO radiator tomorrow and I will do a final wipe down with UQD tomorrow.
