  • Toyota Matrix DETAILED

This past weekend I worked on a friends car. I didn't catch the year so I can only assume it's a 2005-2006. She was mainly concerned about having the seats cleaned up and the outside waxed. The body is in good condition but the paint had quite a bit of bonded contaminants as well as water etching on the hood along with some scratches here and there.

    On with the pics

The car was washed with gold class
    Clayed with the agressive Red
Polished with #80 and W-7006 on the G110 followed by #80 again on a W-8006

This scuff required some M105 with the rotory followed by #80. This shot was taken before #80.

Cleaning the windows is the last thing I usually do. When it came time to clean these windows I noticed some staining that just wouldn't come off after several wipes. So I decided to give some M105 a try and what do you know.

All clean. Now this was on all but the windshield rear and passenger side windows.

All in all it took me 14 hours. The headliner was also cleaned up along with the door jambs and gas cap area. I was bummed that I didn't deliver the car to the client directly. I like to go over everything that was done just to double check I didn't miss anything in particular. Now the paint is not 100% swirl free. I say it's more like 70% which is much better than I was aiming to get it. Client was extremely happy based on the text I received this morining which made me feel at ease knowing I exceeded the customers expectations and that's nice to know.
Thanks all for checking this out.

Amazing on what comes out of those seats!

                  Great work as always!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                  I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.

Jesse, Great work as usual. How much gunk you removed just from the rear seats incredible. The 50/50 pic of the glass was great. Keep up the great work.

                      Re: Toyota Matrix DETAILED

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. No kidding on what comes out of those seats. I can see everything being sucked up through the clear nozzle and it's pretty bad. I could only wonder of dirty seats like these can cause people with allergies any issues and could only imagine the kinds of bacteria and stuff that are living there, ugh. Because I was using the LGM I gave it one pass and waited a bit to let some more of the dirt resurface and followed with another pass. That's one thing I've noticed about using the LGM and the not so powerful suction. Many times before on other cars I've noticed that after one pass it looks great but after I'm done with the exterior I notice stains on the interior where I had cleaned. So I give it another pass and that usually takes care of it. Another way I can tell if there are any stains left over is after I take a picture using flash.

Nice work There's something very satisfying about dumping the recovery tank and watching the sludge pour out

Thanks guys. I applied a small bead of M105 on a microfiber cloth and rubbed away with a little bit of pressure not too much and wiped off. That seemed to do the trick.
