  • Premium Detailed 2000 20ft Sea Doo Challenger Bombarder!!!

    Before you say it, I know, I know, I didn't use any Meguiars products this time, sorry! Please try to enjoy my write up anyway.

    2000 Sea Doo Challenger Bombarder. I detailed this boat just over a year ago and it turned out great. I detail vehicles for this client on a regular basis, but his boat is another story. He had not washed this boat or done anything else to it except for use it since the last time I detailed it. I detail lots of boats and I have to say that Sea Doo is the absolute worst type of boat to detail. They spray their gel coat very thin and it seems to never want to polish out properly. This client was not looking for absolute perfection. He wanted to just get rid of the oxidation and bring back the shine. All of the interior was removed to be recovered so I did not detail the interior this time.

    * Washed with Dawn
    * Clayed with Clay Magic blue and diluted ONR
    * Taped all trim and brightwork with 3M masking tape
    * Makita 9227C
    * Compounded with Four Star Medium Cut Compound and Four Star Avenger wool pads
    (Four Star Aggressor wool pads were used on severe oxidized areas)
    * Polished with Four Star Light Cut Compound and LC White polishing pad
    * Sealed with Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection

    Now for some pics. I skipped the wash and clay pictures. Here are the before polishing pictures. Look at this ugly oxidation!

    Now for a 50/50 after FS MCC then FS LCC

    Can you tell which side is corrected?

    The workhorse. It shines now! Even the vinyl decals were oxidized!

    Another of the 50/50 shots

    Now for some afters!

    No more oxidation!

    This is my favorite shot!

    These two were as I was leaving.

    Thanks for looking!

            Great work! That sucker looks so much better, do you prefer working on boats vs cars when in comes to an overall workload?

              I cannot say that I have a preference, but I do enjoy boats alot. I try to separate my workload. I do many many, more cars than boats, motorcycles, RV's or aircraft.

                The Sea-Doo looks awesome. The reflections are off the charts. Great work as usual.

                    how much of the boat do you do? the underside looks like it would be a major pain to get to, as well as the parts that are on the trailer?

                      I only do the sides of the hull and the top deck as far as polishing goes. Whatever is oxidized, whatever I can get to, lol. If the client specifically asks for me to detail the trailer I will, but if they dont ask they usually dont care.
