Re: Revival of trashed black Honda paint

I viewed this on another forum, still can't get over that many passes with 105 and pfw on a Honda. Results speak for themselves though!! Great work!! You did that car the justice it deserved.
    Fergy-

You're only as good as your last detail

My '98 Civic has that same Flamenco Black paint and I would love for it to look that good again. You did an amazing job!

I just ordered samples of 105 and 205 from ADS and can't wait to see what I can do to my paint. My biggest problems are all these tiny "star" chips in my hood -- driving to close to gravel trucks I guess.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to trying M205.

Sal, that's just what I was hoping to hear. Going to definitely try it out!

Thanks! You might also find cracks in the paint from the heat of the header. 90% of the EKs and DC integras I see have this problem including my Dad's car.

Here are a couple of pics to show the cracks in the paint, does it look familiar to you? I am not sure I could tell the difference between rock chips and heat damage.

Most of the damage does look like to is right on top of the header. Any thoughts?

That is definitely the damage that I am referring to. Unfortunately it's below the clear so there's nothing you can do about it except repaint. Even with the heatshield on, this damage occurs.
