Hey everyone... Thought I'd share a couple of "firsts" with you.
Background: I'm new to serious detailing. I'm one of those people who put their car throug auto wash after auto wash. When the winter broke, I decided to do my first hand wash and wax. Needless to say, I descovered that I swirled the **** out of the finish. I pulled up Meg's web site to find the right products to purchase and discovered this forum. I've spend hours education myself on all the things I should be doing that I was not, products, techniques, etc. I guess you can say that I'm DONE with my old way of doing things.
I purchased this 08 MDX new in Dec. It must have been on the lot for a while b/c there was an outragous amount of surface contaminents that needed to be addressed. The finish was in decent shape after a Cleveland winter, but I drive 30K per year. Even though this car is new, it didn't look new with swirls and marring (sp?) I introduced during the auto washes along with the salt/sand that Cleveland roads and highways are known for.
I purchased a G110 DA and assorted pads, M110, M210 & NXT 2.0, Grit Gaurd Dual Bucket System & MF everything for all surfaces and purposes.
This past Memorial Day weekend, my kids and I set aside some time to dive into daddy's project - get this MDX back to new condition...
Steps:
GC Wash with dual Grit Gaurd & dry with Megs MF towels
Quick Clay Kit
Re-washed with GC dual Grit Gaurd & dry with Megs MF towels
G110 DA with M110
G110 DA with M210
G110 DA with NXT 2.0 (x2)
Foam applicator NXT 2.0 to the 3M paint protection film
The kids helped all throughout the process. I even let them take a couple passes withe G110! I wish I would have taken some pre-photos so you could have seen the before with the after, but here are some final pics. Even the kids noticed that there were no more "circles in the black paint."

Here's the crew in the final image... Thanks G & S for your help! I'd love to hear your thoughts...
