This post is dedicated to Bounty & ClearlyCoated without you guys I would have tossed the DA across the garage. These guys helped me get a good process down and get the results I wanted.
Sorry guys it has been crazy around here with my work schedule and family stuff. But, about two weeks ago my son and I tackled his daily driver. It is an '02 Mustang GT. Here is the process my son and I used to give it some much needed TLC.
1. Wash 2 bucket method w/ Megs NXT wash.
2. Clayed w/ Meg's Clay Bar Kit using QD as lube.
3. Tape and prep.
4. G110 M105 w/ yellow Meg's polishing pad.
5. G110 M205 w/ yellow Meg's polishing pad.
6. G110 NXT 2.0 wax w/ black Meg's pad.
7. Meg's Tire Endurance Gel.
Notes:
1. Because this was a daily driver there was some bad scratches and water etching. I realized I wasn't going to be able to get all of them imperfections out.
2. The black mark on the back of the yellow pad helped us see the pad spinning and prevent bog down.
3. This became a two day evolution so we put the pads in ziplock bags and put them in the fridge. This kept the product moist and allowed us to use the pads without washing them right away.
4. We had the grits or aggressiveness of the products a little backwards at first. So, I now have a chart in the garage (thanks Mike P.).
Okay here are the pictures. We had a hard time getting befores because it was raining and could not get the car in the sun. We also figured out my son was a lot better at taking pictures than I was.
I apologize ahead for the pictures below. I tried for over two hours to get them in the post and finally got frustrated and just put whatever I could get into the post. I know Mike P and the veterans are saying it is not that difficult....well for me it was, and I design websites in my spare time....lol. The problem was I was trying to upload 10-15 at a time.
Some of the scratches.

Some of the swirls.

More swirls and scratches.

After M105 w/ two passes.

This is after M105 & M205 ( my son liked the reflections....wanted these into the post)

And the afters.....enjoy

Like I said I was really pleased with the over results and are learning more each time I log onto MOL. Again thanks Bounty & ClearlyCoated for your help in getting me on the right track. It was a blast being side by side with my son doing his car.
