This is my grandparents van. My grandfather had his left leg removed about two years ago, so I try to keep up with keeping his van clean. He has done so much for me in my life, its the least I can do...
I would normally go to my rotary for this job, but I wanted to show the ability and processes I used with my G110 to remove some scratches down the side of the paint and tail light.
I started the whole process with a wash using two bucket method, grit guards and some APC on the wheels/tires. After that I hit it with some UQD and clay.
Here are what we are dealing with

so the G110 came out, with some 105 and W7207 cutting pad on a speed of 5. Yes I know Meguiars does not recommend the using the cutting pad on a DA. However I am capable of dealing with any hazing that could result of the cutting pad on a DA. No worries
It took about 4 applications of 105 with the cutting pad to remove the defect. I used 105 on a W8207 foam polishing pad next for 2 applications. The defect was gone and now I was just refining my surface to swirl free condition.
Next step was 205 on a W8207 foam polishing pad. 2 applications of this product with a speed of 5 left the surface amazing!!! I did not see a need to jump to W9207 finishing pad with 205 on this project. So the next setup was NXT 2.0 with a finishing pad over the whole van.
Here are some afters of the scratched area

So here is the summary:
- Wash with 2 bucket method w/ grit guards
- Clay entire van
- 105 w/ cutting pad on speed of 5, 4 applications to damaged area
- 105 w/ polishing pad on speed of 5, 2 applications to damanged area
- 205 w/ polishing pad on speed of 5, 2 applications
- NXT 2.0 wax w/ finishing pad on speed of 3. 2 Applications to entire van
I forgot to grab complete after photos before I left
I could have used the rotary and cut down on the number of steps but my main focus was to show with proper technique and products, you can definitely remove defects with DA's.
Thanks for looking!!!
