Hey guys,
Detailed my dad's prius this past week... Took about 5 hours my steps were:
1.) Wash
2.) Clay
3.) Swirl X with PC - Softbuff 2.0 Polish Pad
4.) M21 with PC - Softbuff finishing pad
5.) Trim with APC, Tires dressed with Endurance Gel.
6.) Vacuum and interior clean with APC, Plastic and Vinyl Protectant.
7.) Windows and PlasticX headlights.
Overall it looked great after. I did not really focus on removing all the swirls (he washes it wrong everytime and anytime, regardless of what I say), so this was not the goal of the detail. He wanted it treated, protected, and cleaned up well. It did clean up some of the swirling but I think I really needed a more aggressive pad (cutting pad) or more time and smaller work areas. Regardless, he loved it. Was suprised how much bonded containment the clay took off for such a newer car. Really surprising!
Sadly... My brother got in a car accident with this car today. Front end was basically smooshed in, bumper gone, mirrors broke off, airbags deployed and all that fun stuff. Glady he is ok although the prius is not. It will be repaired and hopefully restored to its originally glory (not enough damage to be totaled I guess!). Here are the pics after the detail I did, not even two weeks ago:
