Nice reflection shot! Black always gives the best final results when done corretly, at least in my opinion!

That's a 00 Lexus GS400 with SINGLE stage paint. Surprisingly hard paint.

In the few areas that I used Diamond Cut/rotary/wool pad (to remove severe defects) it was quite difficult to remove the (induced) swirls! After doing about 20% of the surface with the rotary, I swithed to the PC/DACP/yellow pad, then PC/Swirl Remover/polishing pad.

LSP is #26 over NXT. (Waited overnight/14 hours b4 applying #26).

Anybody have a clue as to what mfg supplies Lexus paint? I'm gonna repaint my black Miata in a year or so, and I *want * this finish!

jimmy nice work! your pic is sweet. i especialy like the clarity of your products on botton self, professinal hand polish, 3m IHG, pinnacle wax, P21s, meguires #7 #9 looks like a few bottles there , and aio and sg. by the way i like how your stuff is neat. i need to get organized. it hard for me because i work on my car at my moms garage, and at mine, sometimes my brothers. i sometimes leave stuff behind, stinks when you can't find it. i going to get a nice plastic tub container at target, and everthing goes inside, this way everthing is in one place.

Mike thanks for posting the pic IN your post. This ol man is trying to learn...

                  There, that didn't even hurt.

But, can I add another pic?

Cool! Just proof that Mike's tutorials actually work!

                  Thanks for the bandwidth.

Toyota did single stage for the '00 GS?!

My '95 Camry has a clearcoat, why would a GS have a single stage?

                    Or is it custom?

Well, it is not custom. Is it because of the the depth? I dunno... I've done (I think) three of them.

Having said that, I just did a 99 GS400 (black) that was bc/cc.

Add this to the growing 'list of things I don't understand'.

Absolutely top notch work, Jim! Nothing like pure black paint to show off your mAD sKilLz!

BTW, your Miata looks amazing! Hopefully the next time I am up in Kentucky I can make out to your shop and have a look first hand.
