  • Audi A4 detail

    here's an A4 I did this weekend

Clayed then went w/ #80 w/ a polishing pad and finished up w/ 2 coats of NXT.

Audi paint is EXTREMELY hard, there were a few scratches that were not deep at all that even DACP wouldn't dent

    Looks great!

I'm not a big fan of that color but you made it look quite nice.

Great work! So, were you able to take out all the scratches? How much did you charge?

I was able to hide it good enough, couldn't remove it fully. Luckily both were on the very bottom of the rear bumper. I charged $150 for this job. The matts needed a thorough cleaning and car need a vacuum and general dusting.

How were you able to hide it? With the wax? What if the customer comes back to you and says that you didn't remove the scratch? Lol! Anyway, great job again!

Ah ha! See what I mean? Audi paint's a huge PITA! Second only to the new Benz Ceramiclear

Believe you me, it took me 45 mins straight to polish ONE light scratch via PC. Yep DACP probably wont do much without a rotary.

I find a Cyclo to be a bit more effective than a PC on stuff visible only under 1000 watt halogens.

I read you say that on autopia and I just thought it was gonna be pretty hard to remove a scratch. I didn't think it was going to be IMPOSSIBLE!

Have you tried a cutting pad and PC? I didn't have mine w/ me

I have to do my brothers black A6 in a week and the trunk lid is just in HORRIBLE shape

I've definitely tried a cutting pad with a PC, that was that 45 min session I was talking about. The Cyclo is going to be a minimum requirement if that A6 is as bad as I'm picturing.

I would urge Megs to host an initial "rotary followed up by PC session for seasoned rotary users" in an extreme ( preferably late model) Audi make over day
