Ok first off i bought my coupe and it had cob webs all over!!

The dealer just obviously never used the two buck method

Well i used the following in order.

    NXT wash
    Clay
    Sonus Paintwork Cleanser
    Scratch X
    #80 Quick glaze
    #7 Show car glaze
    Nxt wax x 2

    Pics explain themselves really.

Yeah its the best thing. I must say the #7 is a bid difficult to remove lol!! leaves a very oily surface, do i just polish that till i have no polish left or is it just a buff on buff off.

          Hey,
Auto looks amazing. Just curious, did you apply the Sonus with the pc?

That looks great! Here's a thread discussing the 'skinning' technique for removing #7 and other Meg's polishes.

Also, did you use the ScratchX over the whole car or just in spots? By hand or PC?

Cam, yeah the whole car was scratch x'd with PC, a cuttin pad btw (Sonus)

The sonus was also applied via PC but this was the swirl pad, green sonus i think.

Thanks for everyones comments, hopefully get some pics in the sun if it ever comes out again

                  JJ_,

You used ScratchX on the PC? I do not believe this is recommended be Meguiar's. Did you like the results of it? How did it compare to something like #83?

                      JJ_,

Just did a little research for you on this topic and found a post Mike made about ScratchX and the PC.

"Sometimes people make mistakes, this is one of those times. ScratchX is not recommended for use by machine because it contains a polymer that can become quite sticky on the surface and difficult to remove when subjected to heat.

That said, I have tried ScratchX by machine, both the PC and the RB and have had mixed results. Sometimes the product has been indeed difficult to remove, sometimes it has been no more difficult to remove than any other product. Because Meguiar's knows that this product can indeed become sticky or gummy when heated, we like to take the safe approach and therefor do not recommend using it with the PC."

                      Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, but i didnt find it gummy, only product that done that was #7.

I just worked scratch x in with the cuttin pad and worked it till there was no more cuttin power.

Scratch x was also easier to remove than #7. And left no smearing etc. But the topper wax did, just saw it in the sun. Ill just wash it apply another layer once the car has cooled then hopefully wipe/buff off both layers

Well, I'm glad that it didn't give you problems. However, I probably wouldn't recommend using ScratchX with the PC in the future. Seems like too much of a risk to me!

                          Good luck!
