My brothers new/used car. Bought it with 8k miles on it for over 10k less than list price... So great deal. Anyway, paint was swirl city from previous owner. He wanted it back to like-new condition. I told him what it would entail and cost, he agreed, so I went to work. Went pretty smooth except for this paint overspray/tar all over the car. Looked like paint chips but it clearly wasn't. Not even clay could pull it up. I had to use brute force and a terry pad + ultimate compound until the car shook. Still wouldn't come off the first time. Regardless, I got over 75% off them off so he was very happy about it, but if my fingers weren't bruised I would of done some more!
Also worked on some RIDS here and there. Nail deep so I could only try to "hide" them best I could.
Procedure:
1.) Wash & Dry (Gold Class Wash)
2.) Clay
3.) Ultimate Compound with cutting soft buff 2.0 pad.
4.) #80 via polishing pad.
5.) M21 with finishing pad.
6.) Invisible glass and rain-x on windows.
7.) APC on trim, engine bay, interior pedals.
8.) Interior quick detail spray on interior.
9.) PlasticX on headlights and taillights (swirled up quite bad, clear now!)
10.) Touch up door jams, gas door area, trunk.
11.) Tires finished with endurance tire gel, ultimate detailer spray on wheels.
Overall, it took me two days and a total of 14hrs. He was very happy with the results. He wants me to go over all the stuff he needs to maintain and all that. He left me quite a large tip so I told him anytime he needs any help just to let me know (But I would of done so even without the large tip! haha
)
Sadly, only have two pictures (not great at that either). But I will try and get outdoor shots tomorrow. Sadly, forgot when it was out! But you can see the nice depth and clarity of the finish now. Swirls are 75-80% gone and no more haze.
Enjoy!
