  • Subaru Forester Hood Rescue....

So this is what happened when my 120lb Chocolate Lab decided to jump on the Forester's hood yesterday morning, when the car was covered in road grime. I went inside and cried a little. lol. Pic taken after a wash to check out the damage...

This morning I went out and clayed it, using Mother's (yeah, but it was on sale for $11!) clay, and their quick detailer. Masked off some stuff (my first time masking, so bear with me, and snapped this one:

Followed up with Ultimate Compound, and two coats of Meg's NXT Tech Wax. Here's the 'after' shot:

I'm quite pleased... it was done 100% by hand, and it was my first time using Ultimate Compound... or any polish for that matter. I'll take care of the rest of the car when I get more free time, but for now, it's back to work! :crackwhip:

Nice work! Nice save too! Be easy on the dog...

Can you share how you applied the Ultimate Compound? Maybe just briefly explain how you applied it and how big a section you tackled at one time?

    Thanks!

Applied the UC using Meg's applicator pads (the yellow, foam ones) using a circular pattern first, followed by a back and forth/up and down pattern. Wiped off with a microfiber towel before it dried. I worked in roughly 10" square sections, and overlapped them.

          Amazing Results

That was the Dog's way of telling you to detail the car...
