  • My First Detail w/the PC

My latest package of goodies arrived here last Thursday so, as you could all assume, I was anxious to get out and test it . My girlfriend's dad had a Dodge Dakota he had recently bought with some minor to medium swirls (sorry I have no before pictures, I didn't have the camera handy...bad mistake! ).

My first step was to wash the car using NXT Generation Car Wash.

After that I had to do something that would not quite be considered detailing. Using a hairdryer I successfully de-badged the rear of the truck, removing the "Dodge" and "Dakota" vinyls.

    I then used this procedure:

    1. Quik Clay System

    2. Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner

    3. #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish

    4. Speed Glaze

    5. Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax

    6. Medallion Premium Paint Protection

I used Endurance on the tires.

The chrome brush guard was first clayed to remove bugs and tar and then I used an All Metal Polish.

I wish I had some before pictures but unfortunately I did not have my camera around when I started the process. Please let me know what you think!

Notice how the back no longer has vinyls on it.

    Awesome job!

Your results look like you picked up the technique for using the dual action polisher right away!

      Thanks, Mike!

Now my next big task is to get rid of the millions of swirls on my Accord. I think I may have to result to a foam cutting pad for that job.

That's a great job!! The swirls are completely gone! Post pics of the before/after shots of your accord when you get it done!

          Thanks Bri!

I'll be sure to get lots of before pics on the Accord. I'm planning on taping off half of the hood when I do it.

                Thanks for the feedback.

Next I have to do her dad's older truck that has been beaten on for years. It's been used to tow the horse trailer and they are now about to sell it. Hopefully I can make it nice looking enough to gain a few more hundred on the sale price!

                      Awesome job on the truck!

As for the Accord, remember to always start with the least aggressive combo and work your way up.

Excellent job! I have used NXT over MPPP but not the other way around. It looks great either way.
