I've never been one though that has been happy with my own abilites and results to finish black vehicles with a rotary, but I've read where others do.
For the first 14 years of my detailing career I only used a rotary from start to finish...having been introduced to the PC/G110 a few years back, and now the FLEX 3401, and honestly do not like finishing off with a rotary anymore.

            Great job!

I have to ask, however, what products are you using on the interior (dash, console, etc.) so that it has that "fresh from the showroom" look, not the "I used a half bottle of super gloss protectant"? The interior in my new truck is a combo of black & grey and this car is the exact look I'm after.

I cleaned with APC, followed up wih M40 on the vinyl. M40 has a very low gloss, but I still follow it up with a dry towel. I use Ultimate Quick Interior Detailer on the radio, TV monitors, and guage display. UQID sound like something you may want. I don't like the glossy look either and it's what I use on my personal car.

What year, make, model truck do you have? Different vinyls may have a slightly different look with M40, or any dressing for that matter.

Re: M205 - First Correction Project - 2005 Black VW Passat

                Thanks for the info Rasky.

I just bought a 2009 Ford Ranger (traded in my 2006 that I couldn't maintain - it was black and I couldn't do it justice)

I have #40 already, I can get QID at a local shop, but I'm having a hard time finding APC. It seems a lot of the really good stuff is only available to those south of the border. Maybe I can find a detail shop that would sell me some, or maybe Mike can suggest an equivalent to APC that's for sale in Canada?

                    Great job on that VW.

                    Great reflections on that thing.
