Well the bright yellow Ranger pays off again!
I was at a bank doing a routine wash for some employees when the owner of this Camry stopped by. It is actually her son's and he was coming home for the holidays and while home, she wanted it cleaned for him. She told me it only had 10K miles on it so how bad could it be?
Here's the process.......
Wheels, Tires, and Wells:
The wheels were treated with Meguiar's Wheel Brightener at 8:1. The tires and wells were sprayed with ZEP Industrial Purple at 4:1. All were then blasted off with my pressure washer. I then had to come back and use Wheel Brightener again with the aid of a few brushes. Very dirty. The tires were treated with Pinnacle's Black Onyx tire gel and the wells with Hyper Dressing at 4:1.
Wash Cycle:
After the lower areas and the car wash pressure washed, I moved the car into the garage where I preceded to use Optimum No-Rinse. I tell you one thing, I love polishing paint that has been cleaned with ONR. Everything just glides over the finish. Probably due to the polymers that are in it. The door jambs were also cleaned during this process.
Paint Compounding/Polishing:
(Meguiar's #105 via G110 & Meguiar's W-8006 Polishing Pad)
(Meguiar's D-151 via G110 & Meguiar's W-8006 Polishing Pad)
#105 had to be used on the hood, roof, and trunk lid due to heavy water spotting. Dealership sent it out that way. There was a scuff on the trunk and 105 did it's job there. The damage on the rear passenger door was beyond fixing. I just tried to make it look a little better.
D-151 was then applied and worked into all the paint. I used it at a slower than normal speed to see if I got that same cut/cleaning without the clogging and dust from the higher speed. Guess what.......it worked. Same cut and there was a deeped gloss in my opinion. I let it sit for about 30 minutes while I worked on the interior.
Paint Protection:
I wanted to protect the paint just a little more and experiment. This would call for Optimum's Opti-Seal to be used. This would be the first time I've used it over 151 so we will see about any durability issues. It's simply so easy to use. The glass was treated with it as well as the wheels. The door jambs got finished with Last Touch.
Interior:
Pretty dirt here. The mats were sprayed with Meg's APC 10:1, agitated, and then pressure washed. They were then vacuumed and hung to air dry.
The leather and all interior plastic were wiped down with a MF towel and APC 10:1. Then came back with a wet-with-water-only towel for a final wipe down to remove any soaps. The leather was treated with Pinnacle's Leather Conditioner and the rest of the plastics/vinyl with Meg's Interior Quick Detailer. The carpet was spot treated with APC and wiped clean and vacuumed. Glass was cleaned with Stoner's Invisible Glass liquid form. The dash cluster and center control panel was wiped down with Meg's Last Touch. Deodorizing was handled by ZEP's Odor Eliminator.
Befores......

Paint damage was just to deep to make any better.

Scuff on trunk lid before....

Lid after.......

Afters......
