  • Bit different - Van Detail

Customer booked this in with me a few weeks ago wanting the stickers removing and the paint restoring in the interior was valeted as well
Hope you like and yes removing the stickers was a pain in the back side 7yr vinyl and only been on the van about 3 years so nicely set on
Shot after the van was washed and dried off using Meg's gold class

I left the heating on in the unit all night to warm the panels up to try and make life easier when it came to sticker peeling time worked a little bit and then heated the vinyl with some powerful hairdryers but not to hot as I didn't want to soften the paint

We got it to this stage and the glue just wouldn't come off so tried a few different methods - degreaser - hot soapy water - finally settling on a white spirits and TFR remover mix alot of clean cloths did the job :thumb:
Pulled outside again for another wash and then on with the clay baring

Then another wash and a coat of Meg's Cleaner wax
You can see in this shot the plastic discoloured

Then 2 coats of Meg's stage 2 polish topped off with Meg's gold Class Wax Dressed the tyres and the black trim

    Then the interior
Vacuumed and washed the seats and then Meg's APC the floors

Thanks for looking hope you like :thumb:

Wow, looks great! All those stickers definitely would not be fun.

              Nice work.
3M sell a decal removal disk that attaches to a drill. Acts like an eraser. I have one that I use for removing dealership decals. The thing is awesome! I watched a sign guy remove lettering like on the van you detailed in minutes. He just came back with acrysol and cleaned up.
Hope I can post this link here since 3M is now associated with Meg's.

              Nice work though.

Looks good! That's a funky looking van, but it's kinda cool.

Did you use a hair dryer at all to loosen up the vinyl ?

Good work, decals are never fun. A couple years ago I had to take all the decals off of 20 sheriff cars so they could send them to auction, so I feel your pain.
