#86 got some #83 and #26!?!?
Well this wasn't a full out detail, only the paint. Kind of a last min thing on the larger panels to remove the oxidation and give it a 'fresher' look, we had this in our shop doing a full restore on all the wood work for about three weeks. I only ended up with it for a couple hours, it HAD to be done!?!?
We bought it used a several years ago and it wasn't all that well taken care of by the other owner(s). To make a long story short, as I mentioned I only had a couple hours to get the paint looking 'better' before it was time to move it out of the shop. There is/was a big improvement over the paint prior to my work but its no where near perfect.
One thing that was new to me is #83, I have never used and thought this would be a great place to try it. Seemed to work quite well, I was having a little trouble with the amount of product I needed to apply, my pad seemed to load up fast, I would guess due to the oxidation then it became difficult to work in and left some 'gummy' areas behind. I was happy with the performance of #83 and I really like the smell! Next time around I will have a couple polishing pads ready so I can change out if needed. Also I chose to stick with the PC due to all the lettering and stickers for fear of a rotary doing a number on them.
Process:
Was already clean since it just had wood work done and all the paint was covered, really just needed light dusting.
#83 Dual Action Cleaner/Polish via PC and polishing pad X2 in many areas
#26 HiTech Yellow Wax Liquid via PC X2 and removed by hand.
The smaller areas were done by hand with a little help from some fellow employees, its far from perfect but it looks 100% better than it did prior all the work (both wood and paint).
Here are some quick photos of good ole number 86...

We have two more just like it (one blue, one dark green) that are getting the same treatment to the wood and I hope to have more time to clean up them after the wood work is done. Overall they are in much better condition but I will take some befores and better afters if all works out ande I have enough time. To make things a little better I am all setup and ready to go with the products when the wood work is done.
