  • 2000 Prelude detailed, over 25 pictures..

I started by claying, washing, using #2 fine cut remover, #7 show time polish with a cheap rotary buffer and hand applied #26 wax. For the tires I used Meguiar's Hot Shine. Any ideas on how to make the car shinier than it is now? It seems like the polish had no affect on the car.

I'm not a import fan normally, but that is one nice, clean looking Prelude. Good work all around!

thanks, if anyone has free time and can edit a few pictures for me that'll be great. I don't have any photo editing software. I'm wondering how these can look with some editing.

Nice detail. I like the background on the rooftop at Santana Row

Did the #2 Fine cut make a "BIG" difference in the shine? After it breaks down cutting, it does become more like a "polish". So perhaps you reached the "maximum potential" of the paint after using the #2? The car looks great from the photos you posted. Take some close-ups of the car next time, to show the true condition of the paint?

I don't know why it came out a little blurry, i'm still trying to practice on this camera.

I didn't really notice any difference at all. There was some swirls before, but you'd have to look really hard to find them. There's absolutely no swirls now.

              Very nice car! Well done!

Perhaps it is not surprising that you did not see a big change after applying #7 and #26. From what I've read, that is the nature of white paint. The addition of a glaze or pure polish simply does not affect its reflectivity in a way we can see. But perhaps instead of using a carnauba hybrid as your LSP, you might try a synthetic sealant like NXT or M21. You might see a little more gloss or sparkle. Maybe. What does everyone think?

              But the car looks great!

I used M80 then NXT 2.0 on my wife's 13 year old white Saturn and the gloss was incredible. Almost impossible to look at in the sun. There's your combination.

Looks good, always like the Prelude...

Noticed all your photos are hosted on PhotoBucket... hope they don't turn into red x's in the future. Over time people tend to delete photos out of their Photobucket album to make room for new photos and then everywhere they posted pictures will have red x' or some default photo like this...

Just pointing out what seems to happen over time... The pictures do a great job of showcasing your car but if down the road you delete the pictures to make room for your new photo project all the people that will click on your thread all excited to see your pictures will be sad...
