I used ScratchX Today

I only did the driver's side door, because I am using it by hand, which is a lot of work. I turned out pretty good, the micromarring was gone after I was done. I wanted to test out the product because I can not wait until I get my DA. When I do I will take it out of the box and start working in my garage with Dual Halogen Lighting that I just bought from Lowes for $30 1000 Watts.

Call me crazy, but the before pictures look like the surface was sanded? It looks as if the peaks of the orange peel were knocked down a bit...

Am I right? Or am I nuts?

To answer the questions, I did look like some of the orange peel or what I think is orange peel went away. The stuff that looks like orange peel is mainly all over the truck. To answer the other question it was by hand and that is why I only did the door yesterday, but today I might do some more.

Wow! Great job. That looks really good. I can't wait to see what you can do with ScratchX 2.0 in your hands.

A tip I use for achieving great results with Scratch X by hand, I try to mock the motions that people use when they use a DA. You make circles all across the area you are working on horizontally and then you go vertically and alternate until the product does not look like its there.

That is a great improvement!
That is a lot of work to do by hand, and it takes a high level of dedication.


One question that I have: when are you going to tackle one of the big trucks by hand?

Wow, that looks good. I also have actually a couple of those halogen lights. 1 2 post 1k watt and a single 500 watt. Help a lot except for the fact that they heat up a lot
