This was a surprise for me today. I've been cleaning the owners RV (ok it's a 500K motor home) for about a year now. He's told me all about this car but I had not seen it yet. He calls me out of the blue today and needs it cleaned. Seems that he uses it for SCCA racing on the weekends. The motor is supercharged and was tuned/built by two guys that are huge in the Vette world.
This was not a full correction since he needed by the end of the day. No befores since it was pretty clean to begin with. I will be getting it for a full correction later this month. Oh yeah.......it was silver but he hated it. It's Lexus black now.
Crazy.
The process.......
Wash Cycle:
Meguiar's Shampoo Plus and chenille wash pad
Wheels, Tires, and Wells:
Wheels were cleaned with Pinnacle's Gel Wheel cleaner.
Tires were cleaned with ZEP's Degreaser and brush.
Wells were coated with Stoner's Tarminator to remove tire debris and then washed.
Paint Correction:
(Meguiar's D151 via Meguiar's Polishing Pad and G110)
I was just trying to clean the paint and get rid of some of the minor swirls. The hood was painted and installed about a month ago and boy are there some holograms. There are some pretty deep scratches all around too. Seems that I'll bee wetsanding some. Glad I ordered a paint gauge.
Paint Protection:
He loves the look of carnauba so I went with Lusso Oro's wax. Easy to use and filled in some of the defects. Love the gloss it gives.
Interior:
Stoner's Invisible Glass (Liquid form. Awesome stuff) on glass.
Pinnacle's Leather Conditioner on seats, panels, and steering wheel.
Engine Bay;
ONR only. I was so scared of removing the engine builder's signature! I then used Hyper Dressing on all hoses and Opti-Seal on all carbon fiber as well as the superchager.

Wheels were pretty cool.

Here you can see the work I have cut out for me later in the month.

They actully did a nice job painting under the aftermarket hood.

Wow. That's all I can say.......

Loads of carbon fiber. Everyone needs fiber.

He mumbled something about Ferrari seats. Even more carbon fiber.

More swirls. Some glamour shots for the end.
