  • Wife's Expedition pre-winter detail

    Hey everyone,

This past Saturday I got a chance to do a pre-winter detail on my wife’s 2003 Expedition. I washed it with Hyper Wash, clayed all exterior paint, polished with 80 using the g-100 with a 8006 pad, and used 2 coats of 26 to lock in that final shine.I detailed the engine with Super degreaser and Water based dressing. Wheels got Wheel Brightener. Tires and wheel wells also got a good cleaning with Super Degreaser. Wells got dressed with Wate Based Dressing and the tires got All Season Dressing. This was an all day job due to the overall size of the truck. Here are some before and after pictures.

    After

I hope everyone likes what they see and comments are welcome.

Awesome job, you just can't beat the depth of shine from #26!

Great job! Nice reflections. You're making me feel guilty, I need to do that to my wife's 2004 Trailblazer.

Thanks. I agree with you on 26. I and a big fan of 21 but for whatever reason 26 looks much better on her Expedition than 21. The paint is a weird shade of blue/purple with blue metallic flake in the paint and 26 really makes the flake stand out nicely.

Great detail my man, looks like you're probably set for the winter protection-wise.

great work, if you havent already (no say of it that i could see) i would give the alloys a wax for some protection and make cleaning the brake dust off easier. Top job though

Great job! Loving the reflections! I lived in Chicago for 3 yrs so I totally understand the need of a pre-winter detail. The northern winters are really harsh on the cars.

I use wheel brightener to clean the brake dust. The factory pads really make a mess. My only problem with waxing them is that the next time I wash and use the WB whatever wax is there will be gone in an instant. I then would have to wax every wash and I dont have the time to pull 4 truck wheels everytime I wash. If the wheels where smaller and the factory pads didn't create as much dust I would wax them.
