Yesterday I detailed a black 540i BMW in a different enviroment. I wasn't sure what was going to pop up next and in a bit I'll explain.
The condition of this paint was pretty bad to say the least. It had so many swirls and enough bonded contaminants to start a sand paper factory. Ok that wasn't funny but the paint was pretty bad. Overall the condition of the body/paint was not bad for an 11 year old (10/06) car. The paint was easy to work on which helped save a little time in correcting it.
PROCESS:
- Washed
- Clayed with the Mild
- #80 on W-8006 & Rotory
- #66 on W-8006 & G110
- HD on the wheel wells
- ASD on Tires
TIME: 9.5 hours
Here are the before shots:

Swirls are very apparent

After the wash I began with the test Spot

This is just after claying the small test spot area

Using #80 on DA

Taped area

#80 on Rotory Definitely shows clarity compared to the #80 on the DA

Since half of the car was in the shade I wanted to do a test spot on the trunk area with the sun as my guide

The paint had small pitts in it which I wasn't able to remove. This was going to be a basic #66 type detail. Since the paint was easier to work with I decided to improve the paint alot more without the added cost.

Why not the added cost?? Well because I hope to work on his other car next which is possible (I hope)
SL55 AMG

The backyard view was pretty cool. That is actually a metal cactus

A bead of #80 to the left

50/50 of the passenger door

The plastic trim was revitalized 50/50 shot

Before

After. These wheels are very time consuming to clean. After this shot I went over them again. Forgot to take a picture as it was getting late.

After

There were quite a few curious animals around. I had a hummingbird zoom past my ear, lizards run past me and a family of deer wondering what I was doing

The owner of the car was a great guy. I might be returning to work on the interior next and hopefully on the SL55.
